Make Excuses...

Abu Qilabah Al-Jurmi رحمه الله said,

“If something of your brother is conveyed to you that you dislike, expend all your efforts in finding an excuse for him, even then, if you cannot find an excuse say to yourself: perhaps he has an excuse that I am not aware of.”

…When Allaah withholds, He سُبحانه وتعالى actually gives…

Sufyaan ath-Thawri

“Verily, when Allaah withholds, He actually gives, because He did not withhold on account of miserliness or stinginess, but rather He looked at the benefit of the servant.

So the fact that He withheld is actually His choice for the servant and His excellent decision.”

Madarij as-Salikeen 2/215

Ar-Ra’d (thunder) glorifies and praises Him!

“It is He Who shows you the lightning, as a fear and as a hope. And it is He Who brings up the clouds, heavy (with water). And Ar-Ra’d (thunder) glorifies and praises Him, and so do the angels because of His awe. He sends the thunderbolts, and therewith He strikes whom He wills, yet they (disbelievers) dispute about Allah. And He is Mighty in strength and Severe in punishment.”

Third Benefit:
It removes sins as recorded in the Hadeeth of Abu Huraira (Muslim #244) that the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:

When the Muslim or the believing servant performs wudhu and washes his face, every sin that he looked at with his eyes will depart from his face with the water, or with the last drop of water. When he washes his hands, every sin that his hands committed will depart from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water. When he washes his feet, every sin to which his feet took him will depart with the water, or with the last drop of water. until, he ends up sinless.”

Imaam an-Nawawi said in his explanation of this Hadeeth: ‘What is intended here is the minor sins and not major sins.’ The daleel for this is recorded below in Saheeh Muslim in the Hadeeth of ‘Salawaat al-Khams’ wherein the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:
