An Important Du’a

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم used to make the following Du’a (i.e. supplication, invocation) as reported by at-Tabaraanee in his book 'ad-Du’a' on the authority of Abu Hurairah رضي اللّه عنـه:

اللهمَّ إني أعوذُ بكَ...من خليلٍ ماكر عينَه تراني، وقلبُه يرعاني؛ إن رأى حسنة دفنها، وإذا رأى سيّئةً أذاعها)

"O Allaah! I seek refuge in you from a companion who plots (against me); his eyes observe me and his heart spies on me; if he sees any good (from me) he conceals it and if he sees any bad (from me) he exposes it."

The above hadeeth has been authenticated by al-Imaam al-Albani رحمه الله as found in his book as-Silsilatu as-Saheehah (3137). He رحمه الله used to end some of his works of research with this Du’a.

There is no Shyness in the Religion, or is there?

Questioner: The statement There is no shyness in the Religion has been circulating upon the tongues of the people.

Shaykh Abdul Azeez ibn Baaz (رحمه الله):
This is correct linguistically and in meaning. This is similar to what the woman (Umm Sulaym) said to the Prophet [May the peace and salutation of Allaah be upon him] Verily, Allaah is not shy of (telling you) the truth. Is it necessary for a woman to take a ‘ghusl’ (full bath) after she has a wet dream (nocturnal sexual discharge?)”

The Fruits of Patience by Sheikh Uthaimeen رحمه الله

cute, pastel, photography, pink, vintage

Discontentment is a trait of an impatient individual whose very own intolerant disposition prevents them from receiving rewards from Allaah. Moreover, their sinful behavior leads them to being overwhelmed by their difficulties. Consequently, they are besieged by two afflictions: problems in their religion caused by their unhappiness and the weight of the hardship that befell them in the first place.

To the contrary, the truly patient believer controls him or herself at the onset of their difficulty. Yes, they do not like that this calamity has happened to them, but they patiently control themselves. He or she refrains from uttering anything or doing anything that would anger Allaah. Nor does this believer harbor ill-feelings in their heart towards the Most Wise. In spite of their trials and mishaps, this person is patient. The contented one is at ease and totally calm during their adversity as though nothing has occurred.

From the wise sayings of Luqman…

Scenery Bridge Water Serene

“If you’re in prayer, take care of your heart; If you’re eating take care of your throat; if you’re in another man’s house, take care of your eyes; if you’re among people take care of your tongue.
Remember two matters and forget two matters; Remember Allaah and death forget any good that you have done to another and any evil that was done to you by another.”

What is incumbent upon the pregnant and breast feeding woman if they break their fast

Question: What is incumbent upon the pregnant and breast feeding woman if they break their fast, fearful for their children, is it (upon them) to make it up, or make it up with expiation?

Answer by Shaykh Yahya Bin 'Alee Al-Hajooree - may Allaah preserve him:
Upon her is to make it up when she is able to, Allaah - Glorified be He, said:
فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
“.. and whoever is ill or on a journey , the same number [of days which one did not observe fast must be made up] from other days.”
(Al-Baqarah:185)

Installing a Satellite Dish to Watch the News - Sheikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: O noble Sheikh there are numerous questions surrounding one topic here is one of the questions. What is the ruling on the person who installs a satellite dish in his home just for the news or to listen to Al Jazeera channel?

Sheikh Fawzan: The news is obtained without a satellite dish, it can be obtained in the newspaper, it can be obtained on the radio, and it can be obtained on Saudi television that which is not on satellite. It is obtained without a satellite dish.

The satellite dish brings about evil upon him and upon others such as his children and his family. Thus its evil is greater than its benefit, if there is any benefit. The evil outweighs it. Thus do not install it in the home due to its pure evil or its preponderant evil.
