Knowing Allaah - MUST READ

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

By: Dr. Saleh-as-Saleh  (رحمه الله)

The knowledge of Allaah is the basis and foundation of every other knowledge and it is the basis for the slave of Allaah to know his happiness and to perfect his affairs and to work for the life of the Hereafter. We are in need of our Creator at all times. There is never a time when we are not in need of Him, even for the twinkling of an eye. The most perfect of the slaves of Allaah are those who worship Him by all of His Names and Attributes, known to us.

How many of us have this knowledge, which is waajib (obligatory) upon all the slaves of Allaah? How many of us are deprived of knowing our Lord???

Repentance (Tawbah) - Dr. Saleh as-Saleh

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone
Alhamdulillaah we have a Lord Who forgives our sins, the One Who accepts our repentance. He is the most Generous and He is the One Who has bestowed upon us the gift of at-Tawbahh, repentance. Allaah warns us that none should despair of His Mercy in Surah az-Zumar:

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâah, verily Allâah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’

In Praise of the Home-Maker

'And I in turn will do the same to my kids...'

It's an icy cold winter's morning sitting in the comforts of my home and enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Suddenly feelings of inner contentment and serenity engulf me. It dawns on me - far too many women feel unimportant, unrecognized and apologetic for being full-time housewives. I prefer the term 'homemaker' - an infinitely better description of a tremendously important role. And so, as an occasion arises with its heavy demands on women, let us reflect upon the vital art of homemaking.

Treating Children Equally

The Prophet  said:
“Fear Allaah & treat your children fairly.”
[Sahîh al-Bukhârî (2587) and Sahîh Muslim (1623)]

Shaykh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله stated that:
"It is absolutely forbidden to show preference to some of one’s children over
others, and that it is obligatory to treat them all equally, males and females alike,
in accordance with their shares of inheritance, unless they give permission
and are adults of sound mind."
                            (al-Fataawa al-Jaami’ah li’l-Mar’ah al-Muslimah, 3/1115, 1116)
