DON'T look down at people

A statement written in ink of gold...

Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"If Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى opens for you (gives you success to doing that action) the door of standing for the night prayer, then DO NOT look at those who are sleeping with a look of disdain.

And if Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى opens for you the door of fasting then DO NOT look at those who break their fast with a look of disdain.

And if Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى opens for you the door of jihad then DO NOT look at those who sit and do not participate with a look of disdain.

Maybe the one who sleeps, breaks his fast and sits is CLOSER to Allaah than you!

Friends in Islaam

One of the greatest things that helps the Muslim to have piety and uprightness on the path of truth and guidance is keeping the company of good people and avoiding evil company, for man, by his nature, gets influenced by his friends and companions and adopts their characters and manners.

Also, man’s character is known through his brothers and friends as pointed out by the Prophet when he said,

A man is on the religion of his friend, so let every one of you examine whom he befriends.

An Insult with a Gift (Backbiting)

It is reported that ‘Abd Al-Rahmān b. Mahdī  (Allāh have mercy on him) said, If it were not for the fact I hate that Allaah is disobeyed, I would have wished that no one remain in this city except that he had spoken ill of me & backbitten me; for what is nicer than a good deed a man finds in his records on the Day of Resurrection without having done a thing or even having known?”

Abū Nu’aym, Hilyatu Al-Awliyā` 4:45.

What is the cure for the one who has illness in his heart or a deficiency in Eemaan?

Sheikh Muhammad Ibraheem Al-Misree

Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله says:

For the tongue DOES NOT keep quiet at all. It is either a tongue that remembers or a tongue that is frivolous and it has to be one of these two.

It is the (nature of the) SOUL that if you do not preoccupy it with truth, it will occupy you with falsehood. It is the (nature of the) HEART that if you do not accommodate it with love of Allaah, it will dwell with love of creation and this is a certain reality. It is the (nature of the) TONGUE that if you do not preoccupy it with remembrance, it will most definitely occupy you with frivolity.

Thus, choose for your own self one of the two courses and confer upon it one of the two standings.”

Beautiful Hadith about Patience

Narrated Abu Huraira that  Allaah’s Messenger صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said,

The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allaah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allaah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes.”
(Bukhari)

Why did Allaah create us? By Dr. Faisal Az-Zanâmi al Wâdi'ee

Question from  كَنْزُالأَطْفاَل - (The Children's Treasure)

-  Why did Allaah create us?
He created us for His worship.

The daleel (proof) is the saying of Allaah:
 وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
"... and I (Allâh) created not the Jinns and humans except they should Worship Me (Alone)."
(Ad-Dhaariyāt  51:56)

In ayah 56 Allaah stressed the purpose of mankind and Jinn which is for ibaadah. After that Allaah  سُبحانه وتعالى says:

مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ

'I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).'
(Adh-Dhariyat 51:57)
Allaah  سُبحانه وتعالى says in the above ayah that He DOES NOT want from mankind and Jinn rizq, any provision nor want to be fed by them.

The Believers are Tested so That it May Be Known Who is Sincere & Who is Lying

Allaah - the Most High - stated:

﴿أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُواْ أَن يَقُولُواْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لاَ يُفْتَنُونَ ﴾

(Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe,'' & will not be tested.)

The Envier Opposes Allaah’s Will

Say to the one who envies me,
‘Do you know who you are misbehaving against?’
You are misbehaving against Allaah in what He gave
because you are not pleased with what He gave me
So he recompensed me for what you did & that is by
increasing me (in my blessings)
& shutting the doors of earning (a livelihood) in your face.

Signs of Beneficial knowledge

1) Implementing it.

2) Hatred for being praised,  complemented,  or displaying haughtiness over others.

3) Increasing your modesty with the increase of knowledge.

4) Fleeing from the love of leadership,  fame,  and worldly pleasures.

5) Abandoning the claim to have knowledge.

6) Having bad suspicions about oneself,  and good suspicion about other people,  so as to steer clear from disparaging them.

'Abdullaah Ibn Mubaarak رحمه الله used to say,  in poetry if the manners of the Salaf were mentioned:

"Do not compare us to them
for the sound person who walks
Is not the same as the crippled one. "

"I saw from the affliction is that the believer makes dua ..."

Ibn al-Jawzee  رحمه الله said,

"I saw from the affliction is that the believer makes dua & receives no response (for it), so he repeats the dua & the period becomes long but still he sees no sign of the answer (for the dua), so it is necessary for him to know that this is from the affliction that requires (him) to have patience (as well)."
