"I saw from the affliction is that the believer makes dua ..."

Ibn al-Jawzee  رحمه الله said,

"I saw from the affliction is that the believer makes dua & receives no response (for it), so he repeats the dua & the period becomes long but still he sees no sign of the answer (for the dua), so it is necessary for him to know that this is from the affliction that requires (him) to have patience (as well)."

Light on the tongue, heavy on the scales

The Messenger of Allaah () said, "There are two statements that are light on the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: 'Subhan-Allaahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allaahil-Azeem.'
[Glory be to Allaah & His is the praise, (and) Allaah, the Greatest is free from imperfection]'.
[Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

The reward of those who have a heavy scale is mentioned by Allaah
 in His Noble Book:

'Then as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be heavy,
He will live a pleasant life (in Paradise).'
(Al-Qari'ah 101:6-7)

Du'a seeking Allaah's aid to repay debt

Ali رضي اللّه عنـه reported: 'A slave who had made a contract with his master to pay for his freedom came to me and said, "I am unable to fulfill my obligation, so help me."

He رضي اللّه عنـه said to him, "Shall I not teach you a supplication which the Messenger of Allaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم taught me? It will surely prove so effective that if you have a debt as large as a huge mountain, Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى will surely pay it for you. Say:

The Power of Du’aa

Don’t Ever Underestimate The Power of Du’aa

Don’t ever underestimate Du’aa. What is the value of Du’aa? That you are transferring a situation from your power and ability to the All-Mighty power and ability of Allaah. You are moving obstacles from yourself to the One who has no obstacles…

When was the last time you made Dua for your parents?

My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy...

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah رضي الله تعالى عنه who said:
‘The Prophet said: “Indeed a man’s status will be raised in Paradise & he will ask, ‘How is this for me?’ He will be told, ‘by your child’s seeking forgiveness for you.”

(Reported by Ibn Maajah, no 3660; see also Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1617)

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say NOT to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.”
(Al-Isra 17:23)

“And lower unto them the wing of submission & humility through mercy, & say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."
(Al-Isra 17:24)

Imagine your mother or father reaching a higher level of Jannah just because YOU made dua’a for them. What are you waiting for? Make Dua NOW...

Asking Allaah for Taqwa & Purification of the Soul

“O Allaah, grant my soul taqwa & purify it, You are the Best of those who purify it, You are its Protecting Friend & Guardian / Master.”

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Haadith in English:
Zaid bin Arqam reported: I am not going to say anything but only that which Allaah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) used to say. He used to supplicate:

“O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee from incapacity, from sloth, from cowardice, from miserliness, decrepitude & from torment of the grave.”

“O Allaah, grant to my soul the sense of righteousness & purify it, for Thou art the Best Purifier thereof. Thou art the Protecting Friend & Guardian thereof.”

“O Allaah, I seek refuge in Thee from the knowledge which does not benefit, from the heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allaah), from the soul that does not feel contented and the supplication that is not responded.”

No. 2654 - From Abu Hurairah from the Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam):

‘Whoever does not supplicate (make Dua’) to Allaah, then Allaah is angry with him.’

Collected by Bukhari in ‘Adab al-Mufrad’, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, Ahmad, Ibn Abi Shaybah, al-Bayhaqi in ‘ash-Shawba’ and by Tabaraani. Albani declared it Hasan.

Shaykh Albaani brought a supporting hadeeth from an-Nu’maan (RadhiAllaahu anhu), the wording of which was: ‘Dua’ is worship’ then the Messenger-sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-: recited:
