What is the cure for the one who has illness in his heart or a deficiency in Eemaan?

Sheikh Muhammad Ibraheem Al-Misree حفظه الله:

Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله says:

For the tongue DOES NOT keep quiet at all. It is either a tongue that remembers or a tongue that is frivolous and it has to be one of these two.

It is the (nature of the) SOUL that if you do not preoccupy it with truth, it will occupy you with falsehood. It is the (nature of the) HEART that if you do not accommodate it with love of Allaah, it will dwell with love of creation and this is a certain reality. It is the (nature of the) TONGUE that if you do not preoccupy it with remembrance, it will most definitely occupy you with frivolity.

Thus, choose for your own self one of the two courses and confer upon it one of the two standings.”

Ibnul-Qayyim: Superiority of the Prophetic Medicine Over All Other Medicine

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim said in his excellent work, Zaad al-Ma'aad (3/97-98), after discussing the benefits of honey in relation to the man who was advised by the Messenger (alayhis salaam) to treat the ailment of his stomach with honey:

His medicine (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) is NOT like the medicine of the physicians, for the medicine of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) is certain, definitive, emanating from (divine) revelation, the lantern of prophethood, and perfection of reason. As for the medicine of others, most of it is conjecture, presumptions and experimentation.

Educating & Nurturing our Children - Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله

“Whoever neglects and disregards educating his child that which will benefit him and leaves him to wander about with no direction has indeed wronged him in the worst way. The majority of children’s corruption has come by way of their fathers abandoning and disregarding them along with not teaching them the mandatory and voluntary matters of the religion. Therefore they neglected them while they were young, thus they didn’t gain any benefit for themselves nor did their fathers gain benefit from them when they grew up.”
