The Dua of our Messenger صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم:

اللّهُمَّ إنّي أعوذُ بك من علم لا ينفع ومن قلب لا يخشع ومن نفس لا تشبع ومن دعاء لا يسمع

O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that is not humbly submissive; from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not given a response.

Superiority of knowledge

May Allaah have mercy upon you.

Know that the Religion is what came from Allaah, the Blessed and Most High. It is not something left to the intellect and opinions of men. Knowledge it is what comes from Allaah and His Messenger, so do not follow anything based upon your desires and so deviate away from the Religion and leave Islaam. There will be no excuse for you since Allaah's Messenger صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم explained the Sunnah to his Ummah and made it clear to his Companions and they are the Jamaa'ah, and they are the Main Body (as-Sawaad ul-A'dham), and the Main Body is the truth and its followers.

Taking Knowledge in Stages

It is reported that Al-Zuhrī رحمه الله تعالى said to Yūnus b. Yazīd:

"O Yūnus! Do not try to overcome knowledge, for verily knowledge is [like vast] valleys: whichever of them you take will stop you before you traverse it. Instead, take it over the days and nights. And do not take knowledge all at once, for whoever tries to take it all at once will lose it all at once. Rather take it bit by bit over the days and nights."

{Ibn ʿAbd Al-Barr, Jāmiʿ Bayān Al-ʿIlm article 652}

Ibn Al Mubarak رحمه الله said:

There was a wealthy man, and every time he heard of a scholar he would go to acquire knowledge from him. So he heard there was a scholar in a such and such place so he boarded a ship to go to him.”

On the ship was a woman who asked him: “What is your pursuit?”

He replied: “I am possessed with the love of knowledge, so I heard there is a scholar in such and such place, thus I am going to him.”

She said to him: Each time your knowledge increases do your actions increase, or does your knowledge increase while your actions are at a standstill?”

The Messenger of Allaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said,

"Whoever takes the path hoping for knowledge, Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى makes easy for him the path to Paradise. Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of pleasure of what he is doing.  Image result for student of ilm

An Advice from our Sheikh Muhammad Hizaam al-Ba’daani (حفظه الله) on the method of gaining perfection in that which one studies.

Question:
What is the best method to perfect what one has learned from the various branches like Aqeedah, Fiqh, Nahw and Mustalah?

🔘Answer :

**The BEST way is to learn at the hands of a teacher, yes, from one who will benefit you in that segment and do not come out of a lesson except that you have comprehended it.

✔If you haven’t gained comprehension, then ask the teacher until you do and likewise examine yourself with the brothers and revise but do not move onto the next until you have understood the first.

✔Also one must memorize the evidences, if he is able to. Memorize the evidences from the Kitaab and the Sunnah, and the issues, from Fiqh & Aqeedah, connected to it along with its evidences.

✔Then, also, revise the lessons that were taken. For example, everyday, revise the previous lesson before attending the next.

✖Do not attend a lesson except that the one before it has been revised

✔Revise the benefits and at the end of the week repeat what you’ve gone through during the whole week along with memorizing the evidences of that which it contained.

Question :
What is the best method to revise Ahadeeth and Mutoon which are being memorized?

The Era of Gentleness

 Image result for library books

Sheikh Abdul Azeez ibn Bâz (رحمه الله) said:

This era is the era of gentleness, patience and wisdom. It is not the era of harshness. The majority of the people are in a state of ignorance, heedlessness, and giving precedence to the worldly matters. So it is a must that there be patience and gentleness so that the da’wah spreads and reaches the people in order that they come to know (the correct religion). And we ask Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى to guide all of us.
