Whoever is knocking at the door of Allaah..

In his explanation of 'Kitab at-Tawhid,' Sulayman bin 'Abdillah bin Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Wahhab mentioned the hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

'If Allaah Loves a people, He tests them.'

After explaining some aspects of the hadith, Shaykh Sulayman asked the question: how is it that Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى  can test those who are beloved to Him?

Summarizing the words of Ibn Taymiyyah, he answered:

'...because this forces the servant to repent.’

Allaah tests the servants with the punishments of this world in order that they repent from their sins, as He سُبحانه وتعالى said:

بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

‘…Allâh may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allâh, & begging His Pardon).’

Explanation of “There is no 'Itikaaf except in the three Mosques...”

Answered by Shuyookh Ibn Baaz, Muqbil Bin Haadee, Uthaymeen & Yahya Al-Hajooree (Rahimahullaahu ta'ala)

Question:
Shaykh Ibn Baaz rahimahAllaah was asked: How sound is the hadeeth “There is no i’tikaaf except in the three mosques”? If the hadeeth is saheeh, does that in fact mean that i’tikaaf can only be observed in the three mosques?

He replied:
I’tikaaf is valid in mosques other than the three mosques, but it is essential that the mosque in which i’tikaaf is observed is a mosque in which prayers are held in congregation. If no prayers are held in congregation there, then it is not valid to observe i’tikaaf there. But if a person has vowed to observe i’tikaaf in one of the three mosques then he is obliged to do so in fulfillment of his vow.
Majmoo’ Fataawa Ibn Baaz, 15/444.

“No one tires of it…”

Allaah ruins him who deserts this Book (the Qur’aan) out of fear of persecution of the tyrants, allows him to go astray he who seeks guidance from a source other than the Qur’aan. The Noble Qur’aan is the Strong Rope of Allaah, the Wise Admonition and the Straight Path.

It is a Book that no one’s fancy can twist and no tongue can change. Unlike other books, nobody tires of it despite its repeated recitation. Its wonders will never exhaust and scholars will never feel satiated with it.

One who talks in the light of this Book will be true. One who acts upon it will be rewarded. One who makes judgments in its light will make just judgments. And the one who summons mankind to it, guides them to the Straight Path.

Where Are Those Who Love One Another?

The highest Level of Brotherhood is to love someone NOT for the material gain, NOT to achieve an Important Position, NOT for any short term or long term worldly benefit - but ONLY for the sake of Allaah (Azza Wa Jal). When you love someone only for the sake of Allaah (Azza Wa Jal) you have reached the pinnacle of friendship, and what remains is for both of you to remain careful not to allow any worldly benefits to enter into and spoil your friendship. If you love someone only for the sake of Allaah (Azza Wa Jal) strive to maintain that pure love in order to enjoy the success in the Hereafter.

Abu Hurairah (radhiyallaahu anhu) reported that the Messenger
صلى الله عليه وسلم said,

“Verily , Allaah will say on the Day of Resurrection: ‘Where  are those who love one another because of My Loftiness (and Exaltedness)? Today I will give them shade in My Shade, a day on which there in no shade except for My Shade.’”

"Nothing can save you from the face of difficulty except..."

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphoneUmar ibn al-Khattab advised Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas saying:

“You are going to face something difficult & nothing can save you from it except the truth. Accustom yourself & those who are with you to doing good, start everything with good, & remember that for every good habit there is a means to develop it. The means of developing good is patience. If you are patient in bearing everything that befalls you or happens to you, you will gain the fear (taqwa) of Allaah.

Did You Know?

The month of Ramadhan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right & wrong).”
(Sooratul Baqarah 2:185)

Allaah praised the month of Ramadhan out of the other months by choosing it to send down the Glorious Qur’aan, just as He did for all of the Divine Books He revealed to the Prophets.

Imaam Ahmad reported Wathilah bin Al Asqa` that Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم  said:

The Suhuf (Pages) of Ibraaheem were revealed during the first night of Ramadhan. The Torah was revealed during the sixth night of Ramadhan. The Injeel was revealed during the thirteenth night of Ramadhan. Allaah revealed the Qur’aan on the twenty-fourth night of Ramadhan.”

ALLAH has Fed him & Given him to Drink

The Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم  said:-
"If any one of you forgetfully eats or drinks while observing the fast, he should complete his Sawm [Fasting] for Allaah has fed him & given him to drink.'
[Source: Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

This Hadith clearly states the Sawm remains intact if due to forgetfulness one eats or drinks. This is provided one abandons the act as soon as he remembers that he is observing Sawm !

If bid’ah only consisted of Lies...

If bid’ah only consisted of Lies, then it would not have been accepted and everybody would even hurry to condemn it and refute it. And if it only consisted of Haqq (truth), then it would not have been a Bid’ah, rather, in agreement with the Sunnah, but it (Bid’ah) consist of both truth and lies in which the truth is clothed with lies.”

What is the ruling on the fasting person using cream to get rid of the dryness on the lips?

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaimeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked about the ruling on the fasting person using cream to get rid of the dryness on the lips. So, he replied:

‘There is no problem in a person using that which moistens the lips and the nose by way of a cream, or him moistening it with water or with a cloth or that which resembles that. However, he should be careful in case something of this which he has used to remove the coarseness reaches his stomach. And if something does reach the stomach unintentionally, then there is nothing upon him, just as if he rinsed out his mouth and the water reached his stomach unintentionally, then indeed, he does not break his fast with this.'

Always in Need of The Ever-Merciful

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

So the servant is ALWAYS in need of his Lord, from EVERY perspective. This is because He is the object of his worship, and the source of all of his help. So no one can bring him any good except Him, and nothing can better the situation of the servant except His worship. And on top of all of this, the servant is sinning, and there is no way that he can avoid this. So he is always in need, sinning, and he is in need of the One who always Forgives, the One who is Ever-Merciful. The One who always Forgives (al-Ghafoor) will Forgive his sins, and the Ever-Merciful will show him Mercy and bless him and be kind to him. So the servant is eternally between the blessings of his Lord and the sins of his soul.

How did the Sahaabiyyaat go about teaching their children?

A: Umm ‘Abdillaah (hafithahallaah) gave the example of Umm Sulaym, the mother of Anas (radhiyallaahu ‘anhumaa) who sent her son to serve the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) at a very young age.   He served him for 10 years.  He was not a slave.  Umm Sulaym encouraged Anas to be with Rasoolullaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم).  There’s no difference between the male and female student of knowledge. Umm Sulaym wanted Anas to get blessings and ‘benefit from the ilm of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم).  She wanted him to get practical knowledge.

Umm ‘Abdillaah gave another example: She spoke about the time when the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) sent Anas to do something for him.  He met his mother on the way and she asked him where he was going. He replied that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم sent him somewhere. Umm Sulaym then told him to never convey the Prophet’s secrets.

Whoever covers for a Muslim, Allaah will cover for him …

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Question:
Is the meaning of the Hadith, Whoever covers for a Muslim, Allaah will cover for him”, that if someone does something bad or evil and I covered for him Allaah will cover me? I hope you can clarify this for me. May Allaah reward you.

Shaykh Abdul Aziz ibn Baaz (may Allaah reward him) answered:
Yes, this Hadith is authentic. Recorded by Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radiAllaahu ‘anhu – may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet  said, ”Whoever relieves a believer from a difficulty from this Dunya (worldly life), Allaah will relieve a difficulty from him from the difficulties of Yawm Al-Qiyaama (the Day of Judgment). And whoever aids and makes easy an insolvency, Allaah will be easy on him in this life and the next. And whoever protects for a Muslim, Allaah will protect him in this world and the next.”
·       Insolvency is the inability of a debtor to pay their debt.

Trapping Iblees at any of the 6 levels...

“… If Al-'Abd prevents Iblees from trapping him at any of these 6 levels, & if it becomes difficult for Iblees, he empowers his party of Jinn & human beings with different kinds of harm, IMPUTING DISBELIEF TO HIM, CALLING HIM MISGUIDED & AN INNOVATOR, WARNING PEOPLE AGAINST HIM, & intending to weaken him & to disturb his heart. Iblees, by using this method, tries to confuse this person's thinking & tries to PREVENT PEOPLE FROM BENEFITING FROM HIM. Therefore Iblees expends his utmost effort to empower the defenders of falsehood, from human beings & from Jinn, against him. --Then the believer is at war until death. Whenever he gives up, he is hurt or is taken captive. -- Hence the believer is in Jihaad until he meets with Allâh."

Traps of Iblees: by Ibnul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah rahimahullaah

Yearning for Allaah & His meeting is like the gentle breeze

“Yearning for Allaah & His meeting is like the gentle breeze blowing upon the heart, extinguishing the blaze of the Dunya. Whosoever caused his heart to settle with his Lord shall be in a state, calm & tranquility, & whosoever sent it amongst the people shall be disturbed & excessively perturbed.”

[Ibnul Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullaah)]

True people of Taqwa

“It [taqwa] mostly comes to someone who does his duty to Allaah with loving obedience. Most people if they try to do this neglect their duties to others or only fulfill them partially. These people do not leave time or energy for their duties to their families & the community. To be able to give what is due to Allaah & what is due to people is something can only be achieved by few special people -- they are the true people of taqwa.”
