Ibn Al-Jawzi رحمه الله تعالى said:
Oh you who seeks Paradise! Know that your father was removed from Paradise, because of one sin.... Yet, you seek Paradise with various sins that you have not repented for‼

Sheikh Uthaimin رحمه الله said:
"If you have been exhausted by something, and were unable to do it say: *laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah*
*(There is no might nor power except with Allaah)*
~ because Allaah the Most High will help you with it, and this saying is not something that is said when some calamity befalls, as done by many people when it is said to them such and such calamity occurred they say: 'Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billaah.'
Sheikh Abdur-Rahman b. Qāsim (1392h) wrote quoting Imam Nawawi (676h) رحمهم الله:
"It is recommended to cry whilst reciting the Qur'aan as it is the attributes of the cognizant ones and badge of the righteous...
The way towards obtaining that is by contemplating over one's recital as it relates to the warnings, severe threats, convents and agreements. Then reflect over one's deficiency in those affairs.
If one's grief and readiness to shed tears is not present at that moment, then let him/her weep over its absence - for certainly it is among the calamities."

O Allaah soften our hearts with the Qur'aan!
O Allaah expand our chests with the Qur'aan!
O Allaah enlighten our graves with the Qur'aan!
Shaykh Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله تعالى):
• Anyone who is patient at the time of adversity,
• thankful at the time of prosperity,
• humbles themselves and supplicates to Allaah upon facing hardships,
• acknowledges their sins and shortcomings, and
• asks Allaah for His Mercy and Forgiveness,
has succeeded and will be granted the blessed end.

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam (may Allaah preserve him) was asked the following question:
Question:
The questioner says: Ibnul Qayyim and others from the people of knowledge have mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ would mostly recite from the Mufassal Surahs during the prayer and that it's not appropriate to start from the middle of nor the end of a Surah?
Answer:
Yes, the evidences in this regard indicate that in his prayers, the Prophetﷺ would mostly recite from the Mufassal; which begins from Surah Qaaf until Surah Naas. Most of the Prophet's recitation was from this section of the Qur'an. Nonetheless, it's been reported that the prophet ﷺ recited from other sections other than the Mufassal; he used to recite Suratus Sajdah in the 1st Rak'ah of Fajr prayer on Fridays, and this Surah is not from the Mufassal.
Likewise, the Prophet ﷺ is reported to have read Suratul A'raaf as well as Suratul Mu'minoon, and these also are not from the Mufassal. So one can recite Surahs from here and there, but there's no harm if a person wishes to read mostly from the Mufassal in his prayer. There is no harm, because Allaah -The Most High- said:
Sheikh Muhammad bn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:
When you want to kill a rat, and killing it is Mustahhab (encouraged), then kill well. Kill it with what will take its life immediately, and do not hurt it. And from hurting it, is what some people do where they put down something adhesive to which it will be glued, then they leave it to die of hunger and thirst. And this is not permissible. When you put this adhesive catcher (in place), it's incumbent on you to repeatedly check and watch out such that when you see anything glued to it, you kill it.
QUESTION:
Is it permissible for a woman to adorn herself for her husband by using makeup for colouring her cheeks, lips and eyelids? Could you kindly explain, bearing in mind that this kind of makeup is the adornment of the western women?
ANSWER: It is prescribed by Islam for the woman to adorn herself for her husband using the means legislated and made permissible by Allāh. The wife may adorn herself with beautiful clothes and clean herself with soap and such things. Soap beautifies and cleanses the body. If there are permissible cosmetics that do not contain ḥarām or Najis (impure) components, or something that may harm the face, or have bad side effects, there is nothing wrong with using them. We can take from the East or West the things that will benefit us, but we must avoid the things that will harm us.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever defends the honor of his brother Allāh will ward off the fire from his face on the Day of Judgment.”

Sheikhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله stated:
"The one who is withheld is the one whose heart is withheld from its Lord. And the prisoner is the one whose desires have imprisoned him."
