A Wake Up Call (Coronavirus)

Coronavirus: India hunts for new strains as Covid wave looms - BBC News

Abu Rayhana Abdul Hakim Al-Ameriki حفظه الله

Transcription: Umm Hasna Bint Jabir as-Saylâniyya

These are the days of contemplation and for all of us to recognize the power of Allaah.

He سُبحانه وتعالى says:

And fear the Fitnah (affliction & trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allaah is Severe in punishment.

(Surah Al-Anfal: 25)

Beware of a fitnah! This fitnah, this punishment does not only affect the oppressive but also the righteous, it afflicts the believer and the disbeliever!! We are all in the midst of this Ya AbdAllaah. Know that Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى is severe in punishment. He sends down fitnah, balaayah and punishment so that you know that Allaah is severe in punishment due to the disobedience of mankind.

Aasisha (radiyallaahu anha) narrated as it comes in Saheehain:

‘I asked the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم about Thaa’oon {diseases that have no cure and no medicine and that which spreads to the people.’ He replied:  ‘Verily, it is a punishment from Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى and He sends it to whoever He will from amongst His servants. Verily, Allaah made it a Mercy for the believers. There is no believer who finds himself in this kind of fitnah, so he remains in the land he is in exercising patience and (Muhtasiban), holding onto the Deen of Allaah, expecting a reward from Allaah for his patience, knowing that nothing is going to afflict or befall him except that which is preordained for him. And if he dies, he dies a Shaheed (a Martyr).

Beware Lest Allaah Takes Your Soul while You are Heedless!!

Covid-19: Mumbai records over 90 deaths in four days

Al-Haafidh Ibn Rajab رحمه الله (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

"It is not appropriate for the believer to spend the morning and evening except while he's in the state of repenting to Allaah because he does not know when death will suddenly overtake him, in the morning or in the evening. So whoever spends the morning or evening not repenting to Allaah then he is in danger because it is feared that he will meet Allaah while he is not in the state of repenting (to Allaah) and therefore will be raised amongst the company of the oppressors.

Sheikh Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz رحمه الله mentioned:

The sitting after the taslim in the prescribed prayers is from the most important times, in which the mercy of Allaah descends (upon his slaves). Do not hastily get up, rather seek forgiveness from Allaah, glorify Him, praise Him, and magnify Him.

Ibn Baṭṭal رحمه الله said:

"Whoever has many sins and desires that Allaah remove these sins from him without burdening himself, then let him seize this opportunity and remain seated in his place after the prayer, so that he may take advantage of the supplications from the Angels and their asking forgiveness for him."

*Concerning contemplation of the Qur'aan*

What is the meaning of the word 'Quran'? | Ask the Sheikh

Sheikh Abdur-Rahman b. Qāsim (1392h) wrote quoting Imam Nawawi (676h) رحمهم الله:

"It is recommended to cry whilst reciting the Qur'aan as it is the attributes of the cognizant ones and badge of the righteous...

The way towards obtaining that is by contemplating over one's recital as it relates to the warnings, severe threats, convents and agreements. Then reflect over one's deficiency in those affairs.

If one's grief and readiness to shed tears is not present at that moment, then let him/her weep over its absence - for certainly it is among the calamities."

• Anyone who is patient at the time of adversity,

• thankful at the time of prosperity,

• humbles themselves and supplicates to Allaah upon facing hardships,

• acknowledges their sins and shortcomings, and

• asks Allaah for His Mercy and Forgiveness,

Ruling on reciting different parts of the Qur'aan in Prayer & the Sunnah in this regard

What is the importance of the Quran; how can you describe the Quran? | Questions on Islam

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam (may Allaah preserve him) was asked the following question:

Question:

The questioner says: Ibnul Qayyim and others from the people of knowledge have mentioned that the Prophet would mostly recite from the Mufassal Surahs during the prayer and that it's not appropriate to start from the middle of nor the end of a Surah?

Answer:

Yes, the evidences in this regard indicate that in his prayers, the Prophet would mostly recite from the Mufassal; which begins from Surah Qaaf until Surah Naas. Most of the Prophet's recitation was from this section of the Qur'an. Nonetheless, it's been reported that the prophet recited from other sections other than the Mufassal; he used to recite Suratus Sajdah in the 1st Rak'ah of Fajr prayer on Fridays, and this Surah is not from the Mufassal.

Likewise, the Prophet is reported to have read Suratul A'raaf as well as Suratul Mu'minoon, and these also are not from the Mufassal. So one can recite Surahs from here and there, but there's no harm if a person wishes to read mostly from the Mufassal in his prayer. There is no harm, because Allaah -The Most High- said:

Sheikh Muhammad bn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:

When you want to kill a rat, and killing it is Mustahhab (encouraged), then kill well. Kill it with what will take its life immediately, and do not hurt it. And from hurting it, is what some people do where they put down something adhesive to which it will be glued, then they leave it to die of hunger and thirst. And this is not permissible. When you put this adhesive catcher (in place), it's incumbent on you to repeatedly check and watch out such that when you see anything glued to it, you kill it.
