“Oh Muslims! Verily it has been authentically reported on The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ that a man said to him, “Give me advice Oh Messenger of Allaah!” So he replied, “Don’t get angry,” & then he repeated it, “Don’t get angry.” Anger is an ember that Shaytan lights in the heart of the son of Adam; for that reason his jugular veins expand, his face turns red, his eyes enlarge, & his hair stands up. All of these things are from the anger that Shaytan cast into the heart until his blood boils.
Oh Muslims! If a person becomes angry then it is
necessary for him to take the means that prevent you from getting angry. So,
you make Wudu (legislative ablution), if he is standing
sit down, & if he is sitting down lay down. If he is somewhere, then he
should go somewhere else so that his anger can subside; as what came in the
Prophetic statement of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ & that which he allowed to take
place.
Verily, it is saddening that some people, if they
get slightly angered he gets angry at his family & divorces his wife. Maybe the
divorce took place, then, he goes to & bothers the scholars, asking one after
another; if he was given a Fatwa (legislative
ruling) that doesn’t appease him he goes to another scholar. Like this, they
follow the license of the scholars for what he did to himself. Therefore, it is
necessary for the person of [sound] intellect to control himself when he is
angry as The Prophet ﷺ guided
to in his statement,
"The
strong man is not [measured] with fighting; rather, the strong man is the one
who controls himself at the time of anger.”
i.e., The
strong man is not the one if he fights he beats his component, but, the one who
fights himself and controls himself at the time of anger, doing nothing that
could make him dislike happens. So, this issue is very dangerous for those
people who get angry & divorce their women. Then, maybe her divorce becomes
final & it is upon them to control themselves, be determined, & strong
until they can bring tranquility to themselves. Therefore, the person if
becomes easy going, controls himself at the time of anger, & increases his
strength in that, then this will become his nature; if he gets angry, he doesn’t
do the things that his anger calls to.
Therefore, fear Allaah Oh servants of Allaah,
attribute yourselves with noble character, & rebuke wretched character.”
