The book Riyad-us-Sâliheen is compiled by Abu Zakariyyah Yahya ibn Sharaf and he is known
as Imâm an-Nawawi رحمه
الله. He was born in Sham {which is known as Syria, Lebanon,
Palestine and Jordan, today} in the year 631 A.H. At a young age he went to
Damashk (Damascus) to memorize Qur'aan and to further his studies there. Heرحمه الله died in the
year 676 A.H. at a very young age of 45 years. He has authored many books.
Riyadh-us-Sâliheen is one of the known books which is a compilation of ahadeeth
of our Messenger صلّى
اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم
and this is
one of the most important books which a student of knowledge is encouraged to
memorize. In it he has gathered what every Muslim needs in every particular
situation and what a Muslim needs to aid him to have good manners and good
characteristics whereby adhering to that in his speech and actions.
