Sifat-al-Wudhu - 5

*** When was Wudhu made obligatory?
Sheikh Yahyaa Al-Hajoorie (May Allaah preserve him) mentions in his Risâla: “Explanation of Ayatul Wudhu’ that it was legislated a year before Hijrah

The statement of Aalim Siddiq Hasan Khan رحمه الله:
Wudhu is from the traits and special attributes of this Ummah.’
(i.e. Wudhu is specific for the Ummah of Rasulullâh صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم .)

** Wudhu is a condition for the Salâh & Salâh is NOT accepted without Wudhu**

Pondering Upon Creation

Pondering upon the creation of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, upon the amazing variety of creation and the creation of man himself is a potent invigorator of faith. This is because the greatness of this creation points to the greatness of the Creator and His Omnipotence, its conformity and harmony points to the vastness of Allaah’s Knowledge and His All-Encompassing Wisdom, its innumerable blessings and bounty point to the expanse of Allaah’s Mercy, His Generosity and His Kindness. All of these factors lead one to exalt its Creator, give thanks to Him, resort to His remembrance and make the religion sincerely for Him Alone. This is the essence and very spirit of faith.

20:124

But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur’ân nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.”

The Flavor of the Heart

Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
If you would like to draw a conclusion of what is contained in someone’s heart then use as a proof the movements of his tongue, for surely, he will show you what is contained in his heart regardless of whether he wants to or not.’

Yahyaa Ibn Mu’aadh said,
The hearts are like pots. They boil with that which they contain and their tongues are their ladles [i.e. scooping spoons]. So look at a man when he speaks. His tongue will scoop out for you that which is contained in his heart, whether it is sweet or bitter, fresh or salty and other than that. And the flavor of his heart will become clear to you from that which his tongue scoops out.1

‘How Can The Answer Not Be Delayed?’

Wahb bin Munabbih رحمه الله also said, He who supplicates without good deeds is like one who shoots an arrow without a bow.”

Some of the Pious Predecessors said, How can the answer not be delayed when you have blocked its path with sins??”

A poet reiterated the same meaning saying:

God in every distress,
And forget Him when our distress is lifted.
How can we hope that our prayer will be answered,
when we have blocked its path with sins?

The Importance of Tawheed

‘So verily the knowledge of Tawheed [the Oneness of Allaah] is the noblest of sciences, and the greatest in rank, and most obligatory to be studied because it is the knowledge of Allaah the Exalted, and His Names, and His Attributes, and His Rights upon His slaves.’
Shaykh Muhammad Saalih Ibnul ‘Uthaymeen

‘So this [tawheed] is the most fundamental principle, and the greatest understanding. It is the first thing that the writers should write about, and it is what the callers to guidance, and what the supporters of the truth should focus on. It is the most important science that they should grab onto with their molar teeth, and it should be spread amongst all societies, until they know its reality, and until they distance themselves from whatever opposes it.’
Shaykh ‘Abdul ‘Azeez Ibn ‘Abdullaah Ibn Baaz

Music: The Wisdom Behind Its Prohibition

Image result for music notes “From among the artful machinations and entrapments of Allaah’s enemy [Satan], with which he has snared those possessing little good sense, knowledge and deen [faith], and by which he has stalked the hearts of the false and ignorant people, there is the listening to whistling, wailing, handclapping and song to the accompaniment of forbidden [musical] instruments. Such things block the Qur'aan from people’s hearts and make them devoted to sin and disobedience. For song (to musical accompaniment) is the Qur'aan of Ash-Shaytaan (Satan). It is a dense veil and barrier, preventing nearness to Ar-Rahmaan! (Allaah) By way of such song, Satan deceives vain souls, making it appear pleasing to them through his cunning appeal to their vanities. He insidiously whispers false, specious arguments suggesting the’ goodness’ in song. These arguments are accepted, and as a result, the Qur'aan becomes an object of neglect and abandonment.”

5 Impermissible Things For A Woman In 'Iddah

After The Death of Her Husband - Sheikh Saleh al Fawzan ( حفظه الله)

Five things are NOT permissible for the woman who is in 'Iddah after the death of her husband. This is known as Ihdaad (mourning).

1. All types of perfume: She should NOT apply perfume to her body or clothes or use anything that is perfumed. This is by the statement of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) in a saheeh hadeeth, "She should not touch perfume."

2. Beautification of her body: It is prohibited for her to dye her hands and feet with henna and all types of beautification, such as kohl (eyeliner) and different types of skin dye, unless she is forced to use kohl; for medicinal purposes and not beautification in which case she is allowed to use it at night and remove it during the day. There is no harm if she uses medicine for her eyes that contains no beatification.

Effects of Jinn on Humans, and Seeking Protection From Them

Can Jinn harm man?
How do we protect ourselves from them?

No doubt, jinn can do things to harm man, sometimes things that lead to his death. Both the Sunnah and observed phenomena support this. During a battle, the Messenger of Allaah Salallaahu alayhi wasallam gave permission to one of his Companions to return to his family; that Companion was young and recently married. When he returned to his home, he saw his wife standing at their door, and he reproached her for that. She told him to go inside, and when he entered, he saw a snake on their blanket. He had a spear with him, and he pierced it into the body of the snake until it died. However, the man died at the same time, so that no one knew who died first: He or the snake. When the news of the incident reached the Messenger of Allaah Salallaahu alayhi wasallam, he forbade the killing of small sankes found in the house, with the exception of the short tailed snake, and those with two black stripes on the back.

Ruling of Treating Sihr with Sihr (Witch-craft/Magic)

Imaam ‘Abdul ‘Azeez bin ‘Abdullaah Bin Baaz رحمه الله

Verily Sihr cannot be cured with Sihr. This is because Sihr can only be reached with worshiping the Shayaateen and calling upon them apart from Allaah and seeking nearness to them with worship. And Sihr is from the greatest of sins rather from the sins that is equal to Shirk. Therefore it is not permissible to cure Sihr with Sihr.
