The Mannerisms & Characteristics of those who uphold the Qur'aan - 1

Image result for student of ilm

Alhamdulillaah we thank Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى for blessing us with yet another Ramadhan, and we seek His aid in pleasing Him and to make the best of it as we do not know if we will be blessed to meet another Ramadhan. We should strive hard in this blessed month -- the month of serenity and piety wherein is all khair (good). Due to the Mercy of Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى upon us, the Major Kuffaar Shayateen (Al-Maradah) have been tied/chained up enabling us to worship and please Him easily compared to other months. Therefore, no one has an excuse to strive harder and work harder in this particular month. Entering into this month one feels more self control than they did before Ramadhan and everyone will attest to this.

The topic of study will inshaAllaah be:

*    آدَب و أَخَلَاق حَمَلَةِ القَرْان
Aadâb wal Akhlâq Hamalatul Qur'aan - (The particular Characteristics & Mannerisms of those who adhere to the Qur'aan should have)

*      Some of the books we will be benefiting from are:
تِبْيَان - إمَام النَّوَوِي
Tibyaan from Imaam an-Nawawi

Umm Hyatt mentioned that she studied this book under Sheikha Umm Abdillaah al-Waadi'iyya (may Allaah preserve her), who had gathered its Fawaaid (benefits) into a book in Dammaj.

*      We will also be benefiting from:
آجُرِّي
Aajjurri - He is from the Salaf. He lived in the year 300's and he is one of the first Ulema who wrote about this particular topic.

*      Also we will benefit from the likes of:
حِلْيَةُ الطَّالِبِ العِلْم - زَيْد بَكَر أَبُو شيخ
Hilyatut-Taalibul Ilm - by Sheikh Abu Bakr Zaid and Sheikh Uthaimeen who did a Sharh (Explanation of this book) which is a book which is familiar to many of us.

Ad-Darani mentioned that Al Hasan Al Basri رحمه الله said:

'The student of knowledge was known for his character, good manners and righteous deeds more than for his knowledge.'

Ibnul Qayyim

Being Close to Allaah
سبحانه و تعالى makes:

Every difficulty become insignificant....

Every hardship become easy....

Every, distant matter become close....

So, by being close to Allaah,
every worry, fear and sadness ceases.

Ask Allaah To Protect You From These Destructive Diseases!

The Messenger [صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم] said: “My nation will be afflicted by the diseases of the previous nations.” They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! What are the diseases of the previous nations?’ He said: ”Excessive amusement, vanity, [blameworthy] competition for worldly possessions, undercutting one another in business transactions, [blameworthy] enmity towards one another and envy, until it leads to transgression”.

Obligation of Repentance (Tawbah)

Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzaan (حفظها الله)

Belief that repentance is an obligation is obligatory, repentance from sins is an obligation. Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى said:

'And all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.'
(An-Nur 24:31)

And He سُبحانه وتعالى said:

"O you who believe! Turn to Allâh with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins.."
(At-Tahrim 66:8)

And He سُبحانه وتعالى said:
"And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zâlimûn (wrong-doers, etc.)."
(Al-Hujurat 49:11)

Therefore it is obligatory for the Muslim to repent from his sins and from his evil deeds and it is obligatory that he does not continue upon them or commence upon them or that he is negligent with regards to sins, and he says; ‘this is easy.' Do not be negligent with it for it is from the sins, rather hasten with repentance.

Sheikh Yahya Ibn Ali Al Hajooree حفظها الله said:

فهو والله داء عضال ومرض قتّال لا يبرأ منه إلا من أقبل على علم كتاب الله وسنة رسوله بكل محبة ورغبة

For it (ignorance) by Allaah is a chronicle disease and a deadly sickness which he doesn’t become free from it except with acceptance upon the knowledge of the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم with complete love and desire!

Innovations are more beloved to Shaytan than sin

 Image result for bid'ah
Sufyan ath-Thawri رحمه الله said,

"Innovations are more beloved to Shaytan than sin, since a sin may be repented from but an innovation is not repented from."

[Sharh Usul I'tiqad of al-Lalika'i (d. 414H) no.238, the great 4th century Imam who wrote on the belief of Ahlus-Sunnah] This is because the innovator believes he is doing something good and therefore sees no need to repent.

Paradise is surrounded by hardships...

Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations!

{Ref: Sahih Muslim 2822}

The scholars said:

This beautiful analogy is from the exquisite, eloquent and comprehensive speech which was bestowed on the prophet It means that nothing will help you to reach al-Jannah except going through hardships, and nothing will lead you to the Hell-fire except whims and desires. Both are veiled as described, so whoever tears down the veil will reach what is hidden behind it. So the veil of al-Jannah is torn down by going through hardships, and the veil of the Hell-fire is torn down by giving in to whims and desires. And hardships include striving in ‘ibaadah (worship) and persevering upon that, and sabr in the face of hardships, and restraining one’s anger, forgiving and having long-suffering (hilm), giving voluntary charity, having ihsaan (excellent behavior) with those who mistreat you, having sabr against desires, and so on.
