Authentic Islaamic material based upon the Qur'aan & Sunnah as understood by the Salaf-us-Saalih (Pious Predecessors) from the corner of a Salafi Home... Sheikh Muqbil رحمه الله said: "Fear الله and teach your families, teach your sons & daughters. How wonderful is the home in which its people are upon the sunnah."

The Description of Ilm (Knowledge)
Ibn
Taymiyyah رحمه
الله
There are many from the students of
knowledge whose intention in seeking knowledge is nothing except for the
attainment of leadership or wealth, and for every person is that which he
intended. As for the people of knowledge and religion, they are the (true)
people of knowledge. This is what’s intended with them due to its benefit
for them and their need for it in this life as well
as in the hereafter. Just as Mu’aadh ibn Jabal (رضي اللّه عنـه) stated regarding the description of
knowledge:
Indeed the seeking of it for the sake of Allaah
is Ibaadah (worship). Reviewing it is a means of glorifying (Allaah).
The research of it is striving (for the sake of Allaah.) Teaching it to
the one who does not know it is sadaqah (charity). By way of it Allaah
it is known and they worship Him. Also (by way of it) Allaah is magnified
and singled out (for all that which is specifically for Him). Based upon
this we find the people who benefit from it and their souls are purified by way
of it. They intend with it the following of the truth and not the following of desires.
The traverse on it: the path of justice and fairness. They love it and find
delight with it. They love an abundance of it and the abundance of its people.

Conditions & Meaning of the 'Shahadah' - Sheikh ibn Baaz رحمه الله
(Laa Illaaha il’Allaah - (لا اله الاالله)
Its
meaning – There is No diety worthy of worship (in Truth) except Allaah.
Its
pillars are:
1. The
negation phrase “ there is no deity worthy of worship (Laa Ilaaha)
2. The
confirmation phrase “ except Allaah (IllaaAllaah)
The phrase: “there is no deity worthy of worship” negates all other
false objects of worship while the phrase “except
Allaah” confirms that there is only one true Lord, worthy of worship
Who has no partners.
The
conditions of the Shahaadah (testimony of Faith) are eight:
1. `Ilm (Knowledge): Knowledge of it’s meaning – what is
confirmed by it and what is negated by it. As previously stated it was
mentioned that the meaning of: “There is NO deity
worthy of worship except Allaah” is that all other objects of
worship that mankind set up as partners with Allaah are false.
2. Yaqeen
(Certainty): To have certainty in its meaning, (i.e. to be free from doubt or
suspicion). This means one must be upon certainty that none has the right to be
worshipped except Allaah.
3. Al-Ikhlaas (Sincerity): This means the sincerity the servant
has towards his Lord ONLY, in all acts of
worship. For example, if anyone deviates from this sincerity to Allaah and
directs it towards a Prophet, an idol, a king, the jinn or any other false
object of worship, then, certainly he is guilty of committing Shirk
(polytheism) and has contradicted this condition of the Shahaadah (Testimony
of Faith), which is Sincerity.
4. As-Sidq (Truthfulness): It means to speak the truth in
order to remove any trace of hypocrisy. This is the meaning of Sidq. It also
means to observe truthfulness with the tongue as well as the heart. If Sidq is observed
by only the tongue and not by the heart, then this condition of Sidq
(truthfulness) will not be met.
Why Recite Ayatul Kursi after salaah & before sleeping?
Question: A listener asks (this was on the
radio), with regards to reciting Ayatul-Kursi: Is it reported that the Messenger
of Allaah (صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم) used to recite it in the morning and
evenings?
Answer: Yes, the Messenger صلّى
اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم encouraged us to recite it when going to
sleep and after every obligatory prayer. When we recite it when going to sleep,
it is a means of protection from the Shaitaan. Likewise, from the means of
entering Paradise is that one recites it after every obligatory prayer, after
he makes the tasleem (saying Asalaamualaykum wa rahmatullaah to the
right and then the left). After one recites the other prescribed remembrances (after
salaah), he recites the Ayatul-Kursi.
Evidence for the one seeking the TRUTH...
“The person who is seeking the truth, one evidence will be enough for him. A person who is upon their desires, a thousand clues will still not be clear for him.”

Reflecting on the Qur’aan
Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله said:
Praise be to the One Who made His Speech (Qu’raan) a source of life for the hearts and a cure for what is within the chests. In general, there is nothing more beneficial for the heart than the recitation of Qur’aan with reflection and pondering upon it with deep thought. It also comprehensively places together the (different) levels of the traveler (in this worldly life), the condition of the one who implements it, along with the status of the one who possesses knowledge. From it (the Qur’aan,) the following are inherited:
* Love
* Yearning
* Fear
* Hope
* Returning to Allaah (in repentance)
