Try to Meet Allaah with this...

It is reported that a man once wrote to Ibn ʿUmar (may Allāh be pleased with them):
"Please write down all knowledge for me. Ibn ʿUmar replied: 'Knowledge is vast, but if you can meet Allāh having kept your back light of the burden of people’s blood, your stomach void of people’s wealth and having kept your tongue from [disparaging] their honour, then do so."'

Ibn Al-Qayyim (May Allaah have mercy on him) said:

"Grief, sorrow and distress only come from two directions. One of it is the desire of this worldly life and having zeal for it & the second is shortening in the actions of obedience and piety."

Is it allowed/Halaal to find out the Gender of a baby?

Q: There is a kind of a table circulated widely among women bearing the so-called "Chinese Gender Prediction Calculator". It specifies whether the fetus is male or female through the age of the mother and the solar month in which conception took place (a copy of the paper is attached to the question). Is it possible for doctors to determine the gender of the fetus? What is the ruling on such and similar calculators? May Allaah reward you with the best for benefiting Islam and Muslims.

A: No one but Allaah (Glorified be He) can know the gender of the fetus before it is fully formed. However, after the fetus is fully formed, its gender can be identified through medical rays, something which Allaah made within the boundaries of human capability.

As for determining its gender through the calculator mentioned above, it is false and groundless as it involves claiming knowledge of the Ghayb, which is known only by Allaah. Moreover, such a table has to be destroyed and its circulation among people has to be banned.

May Allaah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.

Having Patience simultaneously with awaiting Allaah’s reward

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Sheikh Uthaymeen رحمه الله said,

“If the person’s attitude towards ordeals follows a course of patience without awaiting Allaah’s reward, a considerable amount of his sins shall be forgiven. But, if he maintains patience simultaneously with awaiting Allaah’s reward, he shall reap a reward besides the forgiveness of sins. Awaiting Allaah’s reward means: to believe that the patience one endures during the ordeal shall be compensated with a reward from Allaah. This implicitly reflects one’s trust in Allaah, Who, in return, will grant him what he besought from Him."

Firmness Of The Heart And Reliance On Allaah

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Among the greatest cures to nervous and mental disorders, and even other illnesses of the body, is the firmness of the heart and its strength and lack of its being troubled and perturbed by illusions and imaginations brought about by evil thoughts. This is because whenever a person lets imaginations get the better of him, and allows his heart to be perturbed by negative effects like fear of illness, or anger and confusion over some painful situation, or anxiety over something bad happening or over the expected loss of cherished things, whenever he lets that happen, it will surely throw him into the den of grief, sorrow, and physical and mental illnesses, and a nervous breakdown whose terrible effects are well known to all.

Whenever a person relies and depends on Allaah, and does NOT surrender his heart to illusions, and does not let evil imaginations get the better of him, and puts his trust in Allaah, and has a confidence in His favour, grief and sorrow will vanish from his heart as a result of these actions, and many physical and mental illnesses will leave him, and his heart will experience such joy and tranquility that are beyond expression. How many a hospital is filled with sick people suffering from mental illusions and evil imaginations! How many strong person have these things shattered their hearts, to say nothing of the weak ones! The only one exempted is the one whom Allaah has given well-being, and guided him to struggle with his self in acquiring useful and beneficial means of strengthening the heart and warding off worries from it. Allaah, the Most High said:

يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَىاللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ
“And whoever puts his trust on Allaah, sufficient is Allaah for him.”
[Surat Aţ-Ţalāq 65:3]

Meaning that Allaah is sufficient for him in ALL that worries him concerning his religion and his worldly life.

The Types Of Actions That Will Be As Scattered Dust - Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali

The First: One having deeds from which he hopes good but they end up scattered dust and are altered to evil deeds.

As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are as a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one thinks it to be water till he comes to it and finds it naught, and finds, in the place thereof, Allaah Who will pay him his due; and Allaah is swift at reckoning.¹
(An-Nur 24:39)

وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَى مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاء مَّنثُورً
And We shall turn unto the work they did and make it scattered motes.²

Fudayl said concerning this verse, ”And there will appear unto them from their Lord, that wherewith they never reckoned,” ‘They worked deeds thinking them to be good when in reality they were evil.’

The Second: Close to the above: a servant commits an evil deed to which he pays no regard, thinking it insignificant, and that sin will be the cause of his perdition as Allaah says,

"…you counted it a trifle but in the sight of Allaah it is very great." ³

One of the Companions said, ‘You are doing deeds that are, in your eyes, more insignificant than a hair, whereas at the time of the Messenger of Allaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم we would consider them to be destructive sins!.4
