Evil Result of Neglecting Tawheed - Sheikh Saalih al-Fawzan

The Importance of Tawheed & the Evil Result of Neglecting it
Sheikh Saleh ibn ‘Abdillaah Al-Fawzan
حفظه الله
From his book Duroos min Al-Qur’aan Al-Kareem (p.5-11)

Someone may say, and it actually has been said, “What is it with you that you always focus on Tawheed and you talk so much about it?! And you don’t take into consideration the condition of the Muslims in our day and time, those who are being killed and caused to flee all over the earth, those being persecuted by the empires of disbelief in every place?!”

So we say, and with Allaah lies success:

Tawheed is the foundation upon which this upright religion has been built, so focusing on it means to focus on the very core itself. For if we were to reflect over the Noble Qur’aan we would find that it expounds on issues of tawheed repetitively, so much so that there does not exist a single soorah in the Qur’aan that does not mention tawheed, clarifying it and prohibiting what opposes it. It was Al-Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim who pointed out that the entire Qur’aan is about tawheed, since it is only made up of the following:

The Whispering of the Devil to the One Who Remembers Allaah

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

Waswaas is something that happens to everyone who turns to Allaah in Dhikr. It will inevitably happen to him. So he should be steadfast and remain patient, and persist in his Dhikr and prayer and not give up, for, by persisting in it he will foil the plot of the Shaytaan and, ‘ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaytaan.’
[Surah an-Nisa 4:76]

“Every time a person wants to turn his heart to Allaah, whispers of other matters come to him. The Shaytaan is like a bandit; every time a person wants to travel towards Allaah, he wants to intercept him.”

“Hence, it was said to one of the Salaf, ‘The Jews and the Christians say, we don’t experience waswaas. He replied, ‘They are right! What would Shaytaan do with a ruined house?’”

Travelling in order to seek knowledge

It is well known how the Salaf would strive whilst travelling to in order to seek knowledge and they would go through trials and tribulations.

Ibn Taahir al Maqdasee
رحمه الله  said:
" I urinated blood twice whilst seeking hadeeth, once in Baghdad and another in Makkah. I used to walk barefooted in the heat and it overtook me -- not once did I get on a riding beast whilst seeking hadeeth, I would carry my books on my back, I never asked anyone (for anything) at the time of request, I used to live upon whatever comes (in aid)." Age of Gentleness, Patience, & Wisdom

“This day & age is a day & age of being gentle, of being patient, & of having wisdom. It is not a day & age of being harsh & strict. The majority of the people are in a state of ignorance & neglect influenced by the worldly affairs of this life. So it is necessary to have patience & it is necessary to be gentle until the call has reached & been conveyed to the people & that they come to understanding. We ask Allah to grant everyone guidance.”

Sifat-al-Wudhu - 5

*** When was Wudhu made obligatory?
Sheikh Yahyaa Al-Hajoorie (May Allaah preserve him) mentions in his Risâla: “Explanation of Ayatul Wudhu’ that it was legislated a year before Hijrah

The statement of Aalim Siddiq Hasan Khan رحمه الله:
Wudhu is from the traits and special attributes of this Ummah.’
(i.e. Wudhu is specific for the Ummah of Rasulullâh صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم .)

1st Chapter
** Wudhu is a condition for the Salâh & Salâh is NOT accepted without Wudhu**

Pondering Upon Creation

Pondering upon the creation of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, upon the amazing variety of creation and the creation of man himself is a potent invigorator of faith. This is because the greatness of this creation points to the greatness of the Creator and His Omnipotence, its conformity and harmony points to the vastness of Allaah’s Knowledge and His All-Encompassing Wisdom, its innumerable blessings and bounty point to the expanse of Allaah’s Mercy, His Generosity and His Kindness. All of these factors lead one to exalt its Creator, give thanks to Him, resort to His remembrance and make the religion sincerely for Him Alone. This is the essence and very spirit of faith.

20:124

But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur’ân nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.”
