Three Keys to Happiness

I ask Allaah, the Most Generous
The Lord of the Mighty Throne,
To protect you in this world and the Hereafter
And to make you blessed wherever you are
And to make you from those who, when given, are thankful,
 When tested are patient,
 And when sinful, seek forgiveness
For certainly, these three are the keys of happiness.

This is beautiful!!

No one is entitled to Paradise...

You Will NOT Enter Paradise by Your Deeds Alone
Imaam As Saaboonee

The People of Hadeeth believe and testify that no one is entitled to Paradise, even if he had performed good deeds and his worship was the most sincere, or his obedience was the purest obedience and his way was a pleasing one, unless Allaah favors him, thereby granting it to him through HIS Blessings and Graciousness. Since the good deeds which the person performed was not made easy for him except by the facilitation of Allaah, Mighty is HIS Name. So if HE had not facilitated it for him, the person would not have been able to accomplish this deed and (similarly) if HE did not guide him to it, he would never have accomplished it out of his own effort and exhortation. Allaah, The Most Mighty and the Majestic says,

‘And had it not been for the Grace of Allaah and HIS Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins. But Allaah purifies (guides to Islaam) whom HE wills.’

Repel the Thought

Ibnul Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله said:

"Repel the thought, for if you don’t, it becomes an idea. So repel the idea; for if you don’t it will become a desire. So fight against that (desire), for if you don’t, it will become a determination and a passion. And if you don’t repel that, it will become an action. And if you don’t replace it with its opposite, it will become a constant habit. So at that point, it will be difficult for you to change it."

Evil Result of Neglecting Tawheed - Sheikh Saalih al-Fawzan

The Importance of Tawheed & the Evil Result of Neglecting it
Sheikh Saleh ibn ‘Abdillaah Al-Fawzan
حفظه الله
From his book Duroos min Al-Qur’aan Al-Kareem (p.5-11)

Someone may say, and it actually has been said, “What is it with you that you always focus on Tawheed and you talk so much about it?! And you don’t take into consideration the condition of the Muslims in our day and time, those who are being killed and caused to flee all over the earth, those being persecuted by the empires of disbelief in every place?!”

So we say, and with Allaah lies success:

Tawheed is the foundation upon which this upright religion has been built, so focusing on it means to focus on the very core itself. For if we were to reflect over the Noble Qur’aan we would find that it expounds on issues of tawheed repetitively, so much so that there does not exist a single soorah in the Qur’aan that does not mention tawheed, clarifying it and prohibiting what opposes it. It was Al-Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim who pointed out that the entire Qur’aan is about tawheed, since it is only made up of the following:

The Whispering of the Devil to the One Who Remembers Allaah

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

Waswaas is something that happens to everyone who turns to Allaah in Dhikr. It will inevitably happen to him. So he should be steadfast and remain patient, and persist in his Dhikr and prayer and not give up, for, by persisting in it he will foil the plot of the Shaytaan and, ‘ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaytaan.’
[Surah an-Nisa 4:76]

“Every time a person wants to turn his heart to Allaah, whispers of other matters come to him. The Shaytaan is like a bandit; every time a person wants to travel towards Allaah, he wants to intercept him.”

“Hence, it was said to one of the Salaf, ‘The Jews and the Christians say, we don’t experience waswaas. He replied, ‘They are right! What would Shaytaan do with a ruined house?’”

Travelling in order to seek knowledge

It is well known how the Salaf would strive whilst travelling to in order to seek knowledge and they would go through trials and tribulations.

Ibn Taahir al Maqdasee
رحمه الله  said:
" I urinated blood twice whilst seeking hadeeth, once in Baghdad and another in Makkah. I used to walk barefooted in the heat and it overtook me -- not once did I get on a riding beast whilst seeking hadeeth, I would carry my books on my back, I never asked anyone (for anything) at the time of request, I used to live upon whatever comes (in aid)." Age of Gentleness, Patience, & Wisdom

“This day & age is a day & age of being gentle, of being patient, & of having wisdom. It is not a day & age of being harsh & strict. The majority of the people are in a state of ignorance & neglect influenced by the worldly affairs of this life. So it is necessary to have patience & it is necessary to be gentle until the call has reached & been conveyed to the people & that they come to understanding. We ask Allah to grant everyone guidance.”
