JOY because of the coming of the Month of Ramadhan!

Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan حفظه الله

The Muslim is always upon good, especially when Allaah blesses him to reach the month of Ramadhan and other than it from the seasons of worship, and gives him success in taking advantage of it and utilizing it in that which it has been legislated for. In opposition to the people of Hirmaan (Deprivation), whose lives are a curse upon them. Days, even months of good pass them by while they are in heedlessness, turning away.

Installing a Satellite Dish to Watch the News - Sheikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: O noble Sheikh there are numerous questions surrounding one topic here is one of the questions. What is the ruling on the person who installs a satellite dish in his home just for the news or to listen to Al Jazeera channel?

Sheikh Fawzan: The news is obtained without a satellite dish, it can be obtained in the newspaper, it can be obtained on the radio, and it can be obtained on Saudi television that which is not on satellite. It is obtained without a satellite dish.

The satellite dish brings about evil upon him and upon others such as his children and his family. Thus its evil is greater than its benefit, if there is any benefit. The evil outweighs it. Thus do not install it in the home due to its pure evil or its preponderant evil.

What is Prohibited and Disliked for the one Fasting - Sheikh Saalih al-Fawzaan

Know that there are certain manners to fasting that one must abide by and adhere to so that the fast could proceed in the way it was prescribed so that one could achieve its benefits, fulfill its objective and not find it discomforting and without benefit. This is as the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Perhaps all a person fasting derives from his fast is hunger and thirst.”

Joy because of the Coming of the Month of Ramadhan, by Shaikh Fawzaan

REMINDER in a Nutshell:

In brief, this is a tremendous opportunity in your life O Muslim, so take advantage of it and ask Allaah to assist you upon righteous actions in it, and ask Allaah for acceptance and an increase from His bounty. For indeed the one who reaches this month of Ramadhan and Allaah enables him to achieve benefit from it, then Allaah has bestowed upon him a magnificent blessing that nothing can equal.

By Allaah, the millionaires, owners of skyscrapers and realtors cannot equal this. By Allaah, nothing can equal up to this month for the one who Allaah, Exalted and Most High, grants success in it, even if he doesn’t own anything from this worldly life, not even a penny. If Allaah bestows upon him (success) in this (blessed) month, then he is the one who truly profits and he is the rich person in reality. The rich person is not the individual who possesses the dunyah but spoils his aakhirah (afterlife); (if this is his case) he is poor and destitute and has ruined his dunyah and aakhirah.

Reality of ‘Tawakkul' (relying upon Allaah) by Sheikh Salehh Al-Fawzaan- Part 2

The Meaning of Reliance (Tawakkul) on Allaah
Furthermore, relying upon Allaah does not mean that you abandon the means and entrust all of your affairs to Allaah. So (for example) you should not abandon seeking (your daily) sustenance, saying: “If Allaah wanted us to have sustenance, it would come to us even if we are sitting.” We should also not abandon seeking knowledge, saying: “If Allaah wanted us to have knowledge, it would come to us even if we are sitting in our homes.” This also applies to abandoning all of the other necessary things that we must have, saying: “If Allaah had decreed it for us, it would come to us without us embarking on the means for it.” This is extremely wrong.

So there MUST be a combination of the two:

(1) Putting one’s trust in Allaah;
(2) Abiding by the necessary means.

So a person must embark on the means when seeking after sustenance, whilst at the same time putting his trust in Allaah to achieve his objective.

A person plants crops while putting his trust in Allaah that his crops will grow and produce fruit. At the same time, he protects his crops from threats. In order for you to reap the benefits of the crops and for them to be useful to you, you must plant the crops, sow the seeds, water them and care for them. At the same time, you should put your trust in Allaah that He will protect them, make them grow, allow them produce fruit, enable you to reap their benefits and use them.

Similar to this is when a person forsakes marriage, saying: “This is part of putting one’s trust in Allaah since if Allaah intended children for me, they would come to me without me getting married.”

We say: This is wrong. No one with any common sense, let alone a believer, says such a thing.

The Condition of the Salaf in Ramadhan - Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzaan

Question:
I have some questions; the first question: what was the state of the Salaf As-Saalih, may Allaah have mercy upon them and be pleased with them, in anticipation of this great month? How was their guidance? How was their character and their conduct? The second matter, O eminent Shaykh, how does the Muslim prepare to take advantage of these nights and days which he is now living in; preparation by way of knowledge, by knowing the rulings of fasting and knowing the nullifiers of the fast and its rulings? Some of the people are heedless of these things so they do not understand the affair of fasting and they also do not have the obligatory understanding of the affair of the fast, has the Shaykh noticed this matter? May Allaah reward you.

Summary of Understanding Islam, a solution to: THE TRIALS OF LIFE (1)

Obstacles in Life - Dr. Saleh al Fawzaan
There are obstacles which befall a person that may expel him out of Islam if he is a Muslim. These obstacles may also weaken the faith in his heart or may even obstruct a person from entering into Islam if he is not a Muslim.

There are great trials which a person faces, so it is obligatory for him to have knowledge of them so that he is able to stay clear of them and overcome them if he is tested.

“Spirits” of the Dead rising from the Graves & Speaking?!

Sheikh Saleh al Fawzaan رحمه الله states in his explanation of Kitaab at-Tawhid under the chapter [From Shirk is to seek Aid & Assistance (after a calamity befalls) from other than Allaah or to call upon others]:

“Indeed Sheikh-ul-Islaam ibn Tamiyyah رحمه الله mentioned in  many of his works – Indeed that which occurs to the worshippers of graves in terms of their needs being fulfilled [i.e. the affair they seek at the grave

Bid'ah alert for 15th of Shaban : Shab-e-Baraat

Specifying the day of the 15th of Sha’baan by fasting or reciting the Qur’aan or performing naafilah prayers

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله

Question 1: We see some people specifying the 15th of Sha’baan with particular supplications and reciting the Qur’aan and performing naafilah prayers. So what is the correct position concerning this, and may Allaah reward you with good?

Question 2: Is standing the night of the 15th of Sha’baan in prayer & fasting during its day legislated?

What do we do when frequent thoughts which does not please Allaah comes to mind?

Dr. Saleh al Fawzaan حفظه الله

Question: My thoughts often come to me in the things that are displeasing to Allaah and I always reproach myself from these thoughts and I say to myself this is from Shaytaan, are the mankind accountable with it?

Answer: No, mankind is not accountable for it, as the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said: “My nation is forgiven for their mistakes and forgetfulness and the things that occur in their minds which they do not talk about or do, Your state of hating to talk about it and stating it, this is a sign of faith and you should seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of Shaytaan the accursed and you also have to reject those thoughts and avoid its interaction….Yes
