Which of the favours of Thy Lord do you deny? (5)

by Imâm Ibnul Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
(Reminder 5)

A man said to Abû Hâzim:

“What is the gratitude of the eyes?” He said, “If you see good things, you speak about them, and if you see bad things, you keep quiet about it.” He asked, “What is the gratitude of the ears?” He said, “If you hear something good, you accept it, and if you hear something bad, you reject it.” Then he asked, “What is the gratitude of the hands?” He said, “Do not take what which does not belong to you, and do not hold back from paying the dues of Allâh (zakât).” Then he asked, “What is the gratitude of the head?” He said: “To have knowledge in it.” Then he asked, “What is the gratitude of one’s private parts?”

Sheikh Uthaimeen’s Encouragement to Feed the Fasting

Sheikh Uthaimeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said,

Whoever has the ability should be keen on providing people who are fasting with iftaar, either in the mosques or in any other place, because, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person.”So when a person feeds his fasting brothers he will have a reward like theirs, thus whoever Allaah the Most High has enriched [from His Bounty] should seize the opportunity to attain this great reward.”

48 Su’aal Fis-Siyaam, p. 20.

"Whoever is mainly concerned about the Hereafter..."

It was narrated that Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

“Whoever is mainly concerned about the Hereafter, Allaah will make him feel independent of others & will make him focused & content, & his worldly affairs will fall into place

But whoever is mainly concerned with this world, Allaah will make him feel in constant need of others & will make him distracted & unfocused, & he will get nothing of this world except what is decreed for him.”

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2389; classed as saheeh by Sheikh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6510)

Al-Allaamah Shaykh Rabee‘ ibn Haadi al-Madkhalee (may Allaah preserve him) stated:

“I’m going to speak about two or three verses from this Soorah (Aali ‘Imraan). They are the statements of Allaah:

“Oh you who believe fear Allaah with the right that He should be feared with & do not die unless you are Muslimoon* And hold fast to the rope of Allaah all together & do not be divided. Remember the favor of Allaah upon you when you use to be enemies to one another then He (Allaah) brought harmony between your hearts. Then you became brothers by His (Allaah’s) favor. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire & He (Allaah) saved you from it. Thus Allaah makes clear to you His Aayaat (proofs, verses, signs etc…) in order that you may be guided.”
(Aali ‘Imraan: 102-103)

In these verses there is an encouragement from our Lord The Magnificent, The Majestic, The great to fear Him & that we fear Him with the right that He should be feared with.
“Fear Allaah with the right that He should be feared with”

Which of the favours of Thy Lord do you deny? (4)

by Imâm Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
(Reminder 4)

Ibn Abi’d-Dunyâ said:

It was narrated to me that some scholars said: ‘The scholar should praise Allâh for having deprived him of the luxuries of this life, in the same way that he should praise Him for what He has bestowed upon him. How can you compare the blessings & luxuries for which he will be accountable to the deprivation of luxuries which is a relief from being tested, & which keeps his mind free to worship & remember Allâh? So he should give thanks to Allâh for all of that.’”

(Q) “What is the ruling for a person who forgetfully eats or drinks during the day [in Ramadhan]?”

(A)  Imaam Ibn Baaz, (rahimahullaah), answered:

There is no harm on him, & his fast is correct. This is due to Allaah’s, removed is He from imperfection, statement at the end of Surah al-Baqarah:

رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error.’
[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 286].

Women using medication to prevent menstruation during Ramadhan

Q: Is it permissible for a woman to take a medicine to prevent menstruation during Ramadhan?

A: It is permissible for women to use medication to prevent menstruation during Ramadhan in the case that trustworthy, expert doctors and the like ascertain that doing so neither harms woman’s health nor has a bad effect on pregnancy organs. However, it is better that women Do NOT use such medications. Allaah has given women a Rukhsah (concession) not to observe Sawm (Fast) when they have their menstrual period in Ramadhan, and has prescribed for them to make up for the days of Sawm they have missed. He (Exalted be He) has chosen this for them as the way to discharge this religious obligation.

May Allaah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

Belief In The Last Day & What It Entails

Al-Allaamah Sheikh Rabee' (may Allaah preserve him) stated:

"Belief in the Last Day & that which the last day entails from the resurrection, the compensation, the bridge, the Paradise & Hell-fire (is a must). Also (we must believe in that) which Allaah has prepared in the gardens of bliss from gardens & rivers just as Allaah has mentioned that in many verses. Likewise the belief in the Hell-fire (& the refuge is sought with Allaah) & that which is in it of severe punishment. The Hell-fire is that which Allaah has prepared for the disbelievers & the people of innovation share with them in that. They have their portion of the Hell-fire according to the degree of that which they have deviated from the true religion of Allaah & according to the degree of what they have opposed from the true religion of Allaah."

This has come in the severe threat which the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) mentioned:

"This nation will split into seventy three paths (i.e. meaning paths of desires). All of them in the fire except for one."

The companions said: "Who are they Oh Messenger of Allaah?"
