Al-Allaamah Sheikh Rabee' (may Allaah preserve him) stated:
"Belief in the Last Day & that
which the last day entails from the resurrection, the compensation, the
bridge, the Paradise & Hell-fire (is a must). Also (we must believe in that)
which Allaah has prepared in the gardens of bliss from gardens & rivers
just as Allaah has mentioned that in many verses. Likewise the belief in the Hell-fire
(& the refuge is sought with Allaah) & that which is in it of severe
punishment. The Hell-fire is that which Allaah has prepared for the disbelievers
& the people of innovation share with them in that. They have their portion
of the Hell-fire according to the degree of that which they have deviated from
the true religion of Allaah & according to the degree of what they
have opposed from the true religion of Allaah."
This has come in the severe threat which
the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) mentioned:
"This nation will
split into seventy three paths (i.e. meaning paths of desires). All of them in
the fire except for one."
The companions said: "Who are they
Oh Messenger of Allaah?"
He said:
"Those who are upon
what me & my companions are upon."
The point in the narration:
Is that these sects are threatened with the Hell-fire because they have opposed
the Manhaj of Allaah. They have opposed (the Manhaj) in the affair of the
creed. They have opposed (the Manhaj) in the affairs of worship. They have
opposed (the Manhaj) in the (Islaamic) rulings. As a result of that Allaah has
threatened them because they have not held fast to the Book of Allaah nor the
Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم). They have not implemented the command of Allaah in
regards to the following of this Messenger & the command of being
obedient to this Messenger. They have not implemented the command of holding to
the Book of Allaah & the Sunnah of His Prophet (صلى الله
عليه وسلم). They didn't hold fast to
these affairs. They opposed many (of the commands) in the affair of the creed &
the worship. Therefore they are entitled to the punishment that He (Allaah) has
threatened them with. It's a must that some people enter into the Hell-fire. As
for other than the disbeliever & the polytheist they enter under the will
of Allaah.
The people who
commit major sins, sins & the people of innovation, all enter under the
will of Allaah. Whoever Allaah wills to punish, He punishes him for that
which the person is entitled to of the punishment. And if He wills, He bestows
His favor & His virtue upon the person by pardoning him & the
person doesn't enter into the Hell-fire. However as for the matter of the
(Major) Kufr & Shirk, Allaah has said:
إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا
دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاء وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللّهِ فَقَدِ افْتَرَى إِثْمًا
عَظِيمًا
"Indeed
Allaah doesn't forgive that partners are associated with Him, but He forgives
other than that for whomsoever He pleases."
(an-Nisaa:
48 & 116)
Therefore the (major) Shirk & Kufr are two sins that are NOT
forgiven. As for the acts of disobedience & the major sins (they are forgiven if Allaah
wills), different from the Khawaarij & those
traverse on their path of (believing) that the one who commits the major sin is
a disbeliever. Also that he will be in the Hell-fire forever. This is the
ideology of the Khawaarij. They are the opposite of the extreme Murjiah, those
who say:
“Sins don't harm (a person
as long as he has) faith. May Allaah disgrace them. They do away with the
commandments & the prohibitions (with this deviance of theirs)."
