Joy because of the Coming of the Month of Ramadhan, by Shaikh Fawzaan

REMINDER in a Nutshell:

In brief, this is a tremendous opportunity in your life O Muslim, so take advantage of it and ask Allaah to assist you upon righteous actions in it, and ask Allaah for acceptance and an increase from His bounty. For indeed the one who reaches this month of Ramadhan and Allaah enables him to achieve benefit from it, then Allaah has bestowed upon him a magnificent blessing that nothing can equal.

By Allaah, the millionaires, owners of skyscrapers and realtors cannot equal this. By Allaah, nothing can equal up to this month for the one who Allaah, Exalted and Most High, grants success in it, even if he doesn’t own anything from this worldly life, not even a penny. If Allaah bestows upon him (success) in this (blessed) month, then he is the one who truly profits and he is the rich person in reality. The rich person is not the individual who possesses the dunyah but spoils his aakhirah (afterlife); (if this is his case) he is poor and destitute and has ruined his dunyah and aakhirah.

The Heart’s Best Medicine

Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله says:

In short, there is nothing more beneficial for the heart than reading the Qur’aan and with contemplation and reflection. The Qur’aan encompasses all the levels of the travellers, the conditions of the workers, and stations of those possessing knowledge. It is the Qur’aan that generates love, desire, fear, hope, repentance, reliance, pleasure, entrustment, gratitude, patience, and the rest of the different states that are life to the heart and perfection of it. Likewise, it repels all the rebuked characteristics and actions that cause the corruption and ruin of the heart.

When was Ramadhan made obligatory?

Imaam Al-Nawawee (رحمه الله) said in his book 'Sharh-ul-Almuhath', vol:6/250 :

" The Messenger of Allaah fasted for nine years ( Ramadan) because Ramadhan was made obligatory in the month of Sha'baan two years after the Hijrah."

O Allaah whatever blessing has come to me ...

“O Allaah whatever blessing has come to me or anyone else from Your creation this morning is from You ALONE there is no partner with You in that and to You is all praise and gratitude.”

And in the evening one says: “What has come to me this evening…”to the end of the supplication.

The Messenger of Allaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:  “Whoever recites in the morning O Allaah whatever blessing has come to me or anyone else from Your creation this morning is from You Alone there is no partner with You in that & to You is all praise & gratitude, then he has conveyed gratitude that day, & whoever recites the same in the evening he has conveyed gratitude for that evening.”

Related by Aboo Daawud (#5073) with this wording except that he did not mention ((…or anyone else from Your creation)) and this wording was related by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh (#858) except that he (Ibn Hibbaan) did not mention ((…and whoever recites the same in the evening)) and it has been rendered Hasan by the ‘Alaamah Ibn Baaz (رحمه الله) in its entirety in at-Tuhfah.

“Woe unto you, O Son of Aadam”

Hassan Al Basree رحمه الله said:

“We laugh and yet – who knows? – perhaps Allaah has looked at some of our works and said: “I will not accept anything from you.” Woe to you, son of Aadam! Can you fight Allaah? Whoever disobeys Allaah is fighting Him. By Allaah! I have met seventy veterans of Badr. Most of their garments were wool. Had you seen them you would have said they are crazy, and had they seen the best among you they would have said: “Those people will have no part in the Hereafter.”

Medicines of the heart & soul - Ibnul Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah

 

‘There are types of medicines which can treat illnesses which the minds of the senior doctors cannot comprehend, and that which their sciences, experiences and measurements cannot reach. These are the medicines of the heart and soul, and the strength of the heart, its dependence upon Allaah and trust upon Him and seeking refuge in Him. Prostrating and feeling in dire need of Allaah and humbling oneself for Allaah. Likewise giving Sadaqah (charity), making Dua’, repentance and seeking forgiveness, being good to the creation, aiding the distressed and liberating from grief and unhappiness.

Indeed these types of medication have been used by various nations, who are upon different religions and communities, and they found that they had an effect in the treatment of illnesses, which even the sciences of the most knowledgeable doctors could not reach, and they have no experience nor measurement of it. We have indeed experienced these matters a great deal and as others have, and we have seen what ordinary medicine can and cannot do.’

Special Characteristics of the Salafee Woman

Imaam Muqbil Ibn Haadee al-Waadi’ee (d.1421H) 

[1]: She holds fast to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم, within the limits of her capability, upon the understanding of the Salafus-Saalih.

[2]: And it is also befitting for her to deal with the Muslims in a fine manner.  Rather, even with the disbelievers.  So Allaah the Mighty and Majestic says in his Noble Book,
                                                         “And speak to people good words…”

There is no Shyness in the Religion, or is there?

Questioner: The statement “There is no shyness in the Religion” has been circulating upon the tongues of the people.

Shaykh Abdul Azeez ibn Baaz (رحمه الله):

This is correct linguistically and in meaning. This is similar to what the woman (Umm Sulaym) said to the Prophet [May the peace and salutation of Allaah be upon him] “Verily, Allaah is not shy of (telling you) the truth. Is it necessary for a woman to take a ‘ghusl’ (full bath) after she has a wet dream (nocturnal sexual discharge?)”

Does Sincere Repentance Erase All Sins?

[Q]: Does sincere tawbah (repentance) erase all of that which has preceded it from sins?

[A]: Allaah the Exalted said,

“Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves (by sinning), do not despair of the mercy of Allaah. Indeed, Allaah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”

[Sooratuz-Zumar 39:53]

So these sins of yours, regardless of whether they have occurred in private or otherwise, once you have repented with a truthful repentance, a sincere repentance (tawbah), then Allaah will forgive you for whatever has preceded.

Is following 'Ramadaan Timetables' from the Sunnah? Shaikh al-Albaanee

There is a hadeeth that is very often neglected due to another hadeeth, because the majority of people are unable to reconcile in practice and application between them. This hadeeth is his (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) saying, "My Ummah will continue to be upon good for as long as they hasten to break the fast and delay the pre-dawn meal."

So here two matters were mentioned, and they are neglected by most of the people, and they are: hastening to break the fast, and delaying the pre-dawn meal (Suhoor).
