The path to Allaah is long & we pass along it like turtles ..

Al-Imaam Muhammad Nasrud-deen al-Albaani (رحمه الله) said:

“The path to Allaah is long and we pass along it like turtles. The goal is not that we arrive to the end of the path. Rather the goal is that we die while we are on the (straight) path”

Al-Eeman according to Ahlus-Sunnah

Fond d'écran animé, screensaver 240x320 pour téléphone portable
Ash-Shaykh Aboo ‘Abdis-Salaam Hassan bin Qaasim ar-Raymee رحمه الله, stated in his book ‘al-Fawaaidul-‘Aqaaidiyyah min Ba’d Shuroohul-Lum’atul-Athariyyah’:

"-Al-Eeman according to Ahlus-Sunnah is based on the five noons (ن):

1-
اعتقاد بالجنان   (Belief with the heart)

2-
نطق باللسان  (Utterance with the tongue)

3-
عمل بالجوارح والأركان  (Actions with the limbs)\

4-يزيد بطاعة الرحمن  (Increases with obedience to ar-Rahman)

5-
ينقص بطاعة الشيطان  (Decreases with obedience to ash-Shaytaan)

This was stated by our Shaykh al-Muhaddith Hammaad bin Muhammad al-Ansaari (
رحمه الله) in his foreword to the checking of the book, ‘Ta’deem Qadr as-Salaat’ of al-Marwazi.'

Explanation of Al Hasad (envy)

The people of knowledge have differed with regards to the explanation of Al Hasad (envy):

Some of them said: “Desiring the disappearance of the blessing from the other” and others stated that Al Hasad is “Hating/Disliking that which Allaah has bestowed upon other than him. The definition preferred by Shaykh ul-Islaam ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله is, “if the slave dislikes/hates that which Allaah has bestowed upon other than him, then he has envied him, even if he doesn't desire its disappearance.”

A few Benefits from Ash Shaykh Saaed Ibn Da'as رحمه الله

A few benefits written down from Ash Sheikh Saaed Ibn Da'as رحمه الله ‘s explanation of Qawai'd al Muthla (the first tape) -- by Brother  Majid Jawed Al Afghanee:

¬ It is not befitting for a student of knowledge to be ignorant with regards to the Aqeedah especially if he is a caller or a teacher...!!
¬ Don't think that merely relaying speech or tossing it upon those who listen is sufficient with regards to honour for you!!
¬ It is incumbent upon the student of knowledge that he places his concern upon reaching the truth, as it is said that 'little knowledge when accurate contains Barakah and is more beneficial than a lot of knowledge whereub its companions cannot reach the truth!!!

May Allah have Mercy upon Ash Shaykh Saeed Ibn Daa'as & accept him as a Shuhadaa, ameen!

The Five Pillars of Gratitude

Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

Gratitude is built upon five pillars: (1) Submissiveness to Allaah from the one expressing gratitude; (2) loving Him for it; (3) acknowledging His favor; (4) praising Him for it; (5) and NOT utilizing it in a way that displeases Him.

Between the Past and the Future

Ibnul-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله said:

“Your life in the present moment is in between the past and the future. So what has preceded can be rectified by tawbah (repentance), nadam (regret) and istighfar (seeking Allaah’s forgiveness). And this is something that will neither tire you, nor cause you to toil as you would with strenuous labour. Rather it is an action of the heart. Then as regards the future (then it can be corrected) by withholding yourself from sins.
