The Sweetest time.. Ibnul Qayyim al-Jawziyyah


قال الإمام ابن قيم الجوزية رحمه الله

لله !! ما أحلى زمان تسعى فيه أقدام الطاعة على أرض الاشتياق

The time in which you are obedient to Allaah and you are longing for Him is the sweetest time.”

الفوائد : ٣٩ – تنبية

The Best of Both Worlds - Ibn Masood


Abdullaah ibn Mas`ood radiallaahu `anhu relates that the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم would supplicate: 

O Allaah! I ask You for guidance, piety, safety and well-being, and contentment and sufficiency.”
(Allaahummaa innee as’alukal-hudaa wat-tuqaa wal-`afaafa wal-ghinaa).
[Related by Muslim, no 2721]

Imaam as-Sa`dee (d. 1376 AH) رحمه الله stated in [Bahjatul Quloobul-Abraar (p.198)]:

“This du`aa (supplication) is from the most comprehensive and beneficial du`aas (supplications), since it includes asking Allaah for well-being with regards to both the Religion and the world.

Let not your tongue mention the shame of another,..


الإمام الشافعي رحمه الله وهو في ديوانه، قال رحمه الله تعالى
لسانك لا تذكر به عورة امرئ *** فكلّـك عورات وللناس ألسـن
وعينك إن أبدت إليك معايباً *** فدعها وقل : يا عين للناس أعينُ

Imaam Shaafi’رحمه الله  stated:
“Let not your tongue mention the shame of another,
For you yourself are covered in shame and all men have tongues.
If your eye falls upon the sins of your brother,
Shield them & say: “O my eye! All men have eyes!!!”

What do we do when frequent thoughts which does not please Allaah comes to mind?

Question: My thoughts often come to me in the things that are displeasing to Allaah and I always reproach myself from these thoughts and I say to myself this is from Shaytaan, are the mankind accountable with it?

Answer: No, mankind is not accountable for it, as the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said: “My nation is forgiven for their mistakes and forgetfulness and the things that occur in their minds which they do not talk about or do, Your state of hating to talk about it and stating it, this is a sign of faith and you should seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of Shaytaan the accursed and you also have to reject those thoughts and avoid its interaction….Yes
