Do you want to drink from the POND of Rasulullaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم??

Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzan حفظها الله

If you want to drink from this pond (the Prophet’s pond on the Day of Judgment), then be obedient to Allaah and His Messenger. As for the person who claims to be from the Ummah of Muhammad but does not obey nor comply, nor adheres to the Manhaj of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم , then, this person will NOT benefit from using the name Islaam. Rather he will be prevented from drinking from the pond at a time when the people will be extremely thirsty. And with Allaah refuge is sought.

Therefore the one who wants to drink from this pond let him adhere to the Sunnah. And adhering to the Sunnah is not an easy matter. It comes with trials and ordeals. There are people who will rebuke you, harm you, and degrade you. They will say: ‘This person is extreme, haughty, etc.' or perhaps they will not suffice with speech, perhaps they will kill you, or beat you, or imprison you.

But BE PATIENT if you want safety and if you want to drink from this pond. Be patient with adhering to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah
صلى الله عليه وسلم until you meet him at the POND.

The following points were mentioned in Sheikh Fath al-Qadsi  حفظه الله's lesson of Saheeh Muslim Hadeeth #81, Chapter Ma'rifa Tareeq ar-Ru'ya:

Those who will be prevented from the pond of Rasulullaah  صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم

·    The Kuffaar - (the disbelievers) they are those who have refused to drink from the pond;
·       The Murtad - Those who apostate (left Islaam);
·       The Hypocrites - Those who showed Islaam outwardly and hid their disbelief;
·      Those who innovated and introduced new things into the Deen of Islaam -- (the people of Ahlul Bid'ah)

Giving Charity is a CURE for your illness!

 Seeking Treatment for an Illness by Giving Charity....

From Abu Umamah رضي اللّه عنـه who said that the Messenger of Allaah صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:
‘Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah (charity).’
[Collected in Saheeh al-Jamia’ No. 3358 & declared Hasan by Albaani رحمه الله]

From Ubadah bin Saamitt who said: I heard the Messenger of Allaahصلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم  saying:

There is no person who is afflicted with a wound on his body, and he gives charity due to that, then Allaah expiates from him the like of what he gave in charity.'
[Collected by Ahmad & Albaani declared it to have an authentic Isnaad in Saheehah No. 2273]

Benefits of giving Sadaqah:
A man asked Abdullaah bin al-Mubarakرحمه الله  about ulcers that had sprung out on his knee for about seven years, and he tried to treat it with various treatments, he had asked doctors but to no avail. So Ibn Mubarak said: Go and dig a well in a place where people need water, indeed I hope that there springs up water there, and by that you stop bleeding.’  The man did that and Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى cured him.’
[Taken from: ‘Seerah ‘Alaam’ 8/407]

How can one know if an affliction is a test or a wrath from Allaah?

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Imâm Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz رحمه الله was asked:

'If someone is afflicted with an illness or a trial in one’s self or wealth, how can he know if this affliction is a test or a wrath from Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى?'

He رحمه الله replied: Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى tries His servants with prosperity and adversity, and with hardship and ease, and He may try them with that to elevate their ranks and to raise high their fame and to multiply their good deeds like He سُبحانه وتعالى does with the Prophets and Messengers and the righteous ones from His servants.

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:

“People who are tried most severely are the Prophets, then those who are like them then those who are like them”
[Graded authentic by Al-Albaani in Saheehul-Jaami’ no. 993]

And sometimes Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى does that [i.e. trying His servants] because of sins and disobedience, so the punishment is hastened as He سُبحانه وتعالى said:

وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ
'And whatever of misfortune that befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.'
[Ash-Shuraa 42:30]

The Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم's Farewell Sermon

Prophet Muhammad (صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم) delivered his last sermon (Khutbah) on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah (12th and the last month of the Isalamic year), 10 years after Hijrah (migration from Makkah to Madeenah) in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat. His words were quite clear and concise and were directed to the ENTIRE humanity.

After praising, and thanking Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى he صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم said:

“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allaah has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allaah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Does supplication have any effect in changing what is written for a person before he was created?

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Answer by Sheikh Saalih al-Uthaimeen رحمه الله:

There is no doubt that supplication has an effect on changing what is written, but this change was also written because of the supplication. So, do not think that if you supplicate to Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى that you are supplicating with something which was not written; rather the supplication is written, and what results from it is written. This is why we find that the reciter recites over the sick person and he is cured, and in the story of the military expedition which the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم sent, they stayed as guests with a people, but they did not treat them hospitably, and it was decreed that a snake bit their leader, so they requested someone to recite something over him. The Companions رضي الله عنهم imposed the condition that they should be paid for that, and they gave them a flock of sheep, so one of them went and recited Surat al-Faatihah over him, and the man who was bitten arose as if he had been freed from shackles, that is, as if he was a camel which had broken free from its tethering rope. Therefore the recitation had an effect in curing the sick person.

Behaviour of the majority when stricken with illness

An observation of Imaam Ibnul Jawzi رحمه الله during his era

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi رحمه الله said:

Indeed, I see that when the majority of the people are stricken with illness, they would sometimes preoccupy themselves with (feelings) of anguish and complaining, and sometimes they would preoccupy themselves with medication. So preoccupation with the severity (of the illness) diverts them from the beneficial commandments, performance of good deeds or preparation for death. And how many (a person) has sins which he has not repented from, or trust which he has not returned, or a debt, or zakaah (to pay), or a misdeed related to responsibility of his, which he has not realized! But his sadness is (focused) in his parting with the worldly life. He has no interest other than (the sadness felt due to parting with this world), and perhaps he may regain health and command wrong doing. The reason for this is due to weakness in Imaan, as Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى said:

Repentance is due for delaying your Repentance !!

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

Ibnul Qayyim al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله said:

”…And we shall mention some things related to repentance (tawbah) that are very necessary (to grasp), and it is NOT befitting that someone be ignorant of them.
From them: Immediate repentance is obligatory after committing a sin. It is NOT permissible to delay it. Whenever someone delays it, he has committed (another) sin by delaying it. In this case, when he repents from the sin (itself), another act of repentance remains a duty upon him – that he must repent for delaying his repentance! This is something that rarely comes to mind when someone repents. Instead, he may assume that since he has repented from the sin, that there is nothing else left to do, while there remains upon him the duty to repent from delaying his repentance
