Your Child's Morals & Attitude??

Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"One thing that the child desperately needs is for care to be taken with regard to his morals & attitude, for he will grow up with whatever the one who is raising him accustoms him to when he is small, & when he grows older it becomes difficult for him to change what he has gotten used to; these attitudes & characteristics that have become deeply ingrained in him, even if he tries to suppress them, they will always surface & expose him."

Islaamically approved treatment for Postnatal Depression

             Fatwa # 3828 {The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta’}

Question: I am a Muslim woman in my twenties. I was married about a year & a half ago & thanks to Allaah, I had a baby six months ago delivered naturally. A week after delivery, I began to suffer from severe depression, which had never happened to me before. I lost interest in everything, even taking care of the baby. I went to a psychiatrist & took medication until recently, but it was of no use & I became tired of long treatment.

Is Smoking H-A-R-A-A-M ??

Dr. Saleh as Saleh رحمه الله

Edited by: Umm Hasna bint Jabir as-Saylâniyyah

Many Muslims regard smoking as disliked by Sharee’ah but not forbidden. When an advice is given about smoking and its ruling you often hear a defensive response. People know the killing effects of smoking, but Satan wants them to keep on spending and burning their chests.

Certainly, cigarettes were not present in the lifetime of the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم. However, what was present and will continue to be present is the Revelation in its forms, the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah. The Qur’aan formulated the prohibition of everything that is evil:

وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَآئِثَ

“He allows them all that is good & lawful, &  prohibits them as unlawful all that is evil.”
(Al-A'raf 7:157)

Evil manifests itself in things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, drinks, etc.

Let us see whether smoking is evil or not?

Try to practice this Ayah at least once in your life

By Sheikh Uthaimeen رحمه الله
Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى said:

لَن تَنَالُواْ الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَيْءٍ
'By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, Paradise), unless you spend from that which you love.'
 (Soorah 'Āli Imrān 3:92)

The people should implement this verse, even if they do so ONE time. If he is amazed by something from his wealth, then let him give it in charity; perhaps he may attain 'Al-Birr'.

Who are the 'Victorious Group?"

 At-Taa’ifah Al-Mansoorah - (The Victorious Group)

This is found in the hadeeth of Mughirah bin Shu'bah رضي اللّه عنـه  where he narrated that the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم  said:

"There will NEVER cease to be a group from my Ummah manifest (clear) upon the truth, they will not be harmed by those who forsake them until Allaah's Decree comes."

{Reported by Muslim in his Sahih (no.1920) in the Book of 'Imarah, Abu Dawud (no. 4252) in the Book of Fitan, Tirmidhi (no. 2177 & 2230) in the Book of Fitan.}

From this hadeeth it shows us that they are At-Taa’ifah Al-Mansoorah (the victorious group).

'Al-Mansoorah - means 'the victorious'.  Here the Prophet صلّى اللَّهُ عليه وسلّم  explained that they are victorious because they will not be harmed by those who leave them or those who go against them.

The Secret of Salaah

Sheikh-ul-Islaam Ibnul-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله stated:

The secret of the Salaah, its soul and core is the slave’s turning to Allaah in totality whilst in the prayer. Therefore, just as it is not befitting that he turns his face away from the Qiblah to other than it during the Salaah, it is likewise not befitting to turn his heart away from his Lord to other than Him during the Salaah. Rather he (the slave) makes the Kaa’bah, which is the house of Allaah, the Qiblah of his face and body. (Likewise) he makes the Lord of the House the Qiblah of his heart and soul. So according to how much the servant turns to Allaah in his Salaah, (then this) will determine how much Allaah turns towards him. And if he (the slave) was to turn away, then Allaah will turn away from him.

And (the saying goes):

“.... as he lives, he is treated (accordingly).”

As-Sarf Lesson #16

الصَّرْفُ

Taught by: Umm Hyatt al-Ameriki حفظها الله

What is the sign that the root letter has been changed to an  (ا) "alif"

Example:  قالَ (Qaala)  and   باعَ (Baa'a)

When we see these two words, has an (ا) "alif" in the middle. What does the (ا) "alif" here represent and why?

This alif is not an extra letter because if it is an extra letter the words will comprise of only 2 letters and in Sarf the minimum number of letters is 3.

So, here it represents that the original letter has been changed to an  (ا) "alif".
The ROOT for the alif could be one of two things:   و   OR   ي

Importance of asking Allaah to be protected from that which others are afflicted with..

Animated wallpaper, screensaver 240x320 for cellphone

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم   said:

"Whoever comes across a person suffering a calamity and says:

الحمد لله الذي عافاني مما ابتلاك به ، وفضلني على كثير ممن خلق تفضيلا

(Alhamdulillaa-hillaazi Aafaani mim mabtalaaka bihi, wa faddalani ala katheerim mimman khalaqa tafdeelaa)

‘All praise is for Allaah Who saved me from that which He tested you with and Who most certainly favored me over much of His creation,’
he will be kept SAFE from that calamity."

[Sunan al-Tirmidhee (3431, 3432) on the authority of Abu Hurairah & `Umar  رضي الله عنهما, and Sunan Ibn Maajah (3892) & graded as “Hasan” by Sheikh al-Albaanee]

The Sunnah Before (Beginning) The Dua

Sheikh ibn Baaz رحمه الله in his explanation to "Riyaadh al-Saaliheen" said:

The Sunnah before (beginning) the dua is to praise Allaah as has been mentioned in ‘al-Tahiyyaat’*, then after that to send the prayer upon the Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم, then (he should make) the dua. And this is how it should be done also when he is making the dua in Sujood (prostration), or at any other time; he should praise Allaah, send prayers upon the Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم and then supplicates to his Lord for whatever he wishes, and this is the first step for the dua being answered.”

Narrated Fudalah ibn Ubayd: The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allaah, nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم  said:

Healing with the Qur'aan vs. Natural Medicine

Ibnul-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
Allaah سُبحانه وتعالى says:

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاء وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And We send down of the Qur'aan that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe.”
[al-Isra’ 17:82]

The correct view is that the word min (translated here as “of”) serves to explain the nature of the Qur'aan as a whole, not to refer to parts of it and not other parts.

The Qur'aan is the complete healing for all mental, spiritual and physical diseases, all diseases of this world and the Hereafter. But not everyone is guided to use it for the purpose of healing. If the sick person uses the Qur'aan for healing in the proper way, and applies it to his disease with sincerity, faith, complete acceptance and firm conviction, fulfilling all its conditions, then no disease can resist it.

How can disease resist the words of the Lord of heaven and earth which, if He had revealed it to the mountains they would have crumbled and if He had revealed it to the earth it would have broken it apart? There is no sickness, spiritual or physical, but in the Qur'aan there is that which indicates its remedy, its cause and how to protect against it for those who are blessed with understanding of His Book.
